  1. “$2 Submarine? That makes no sense.”
    Ozone… it’s a sandwich shop… sub sandwich.

Also I’ve been waiting to say this for a few videos now since noticing it myself, but we actually get a big hint to Stan’s true identity earlier in the series. His license plate says STNLYMBL, or “Stanley Mobile,” hinting to keen eyed viewers that his name was really Stanley the entire time. The level of foreshadowing in this show is just incredible.

  2. Stan really wasn't what he seemed, was he?
In my opinion, there's a bit of nuance and gray morality to the Stan and Ford situation. Stan went out of his way to visit the school grounds after dark just to look at the motion machine, and he likely did have malicious intent. However, the machine was flimsy and fragile enough to break just from the table shaking (Ford, despite his genius, really isn't all that good with machinery. That's a lot more of McGucket's thing.), so who's to say it wouldn't have shorted out on its own anyway? And to give Stan credit, it WAS an accident, he did feel regret, and even attempted to fix it. Ford, with his "Trust No One" mentality, refused to believe that Stan was telling the truth, accused Stan of doing it on purpose, and ended up getting Stan disowned. Stan had sabotaged both their futures with one big mistake, but Ford purposefully closed himself off and left Stan behind when they were both hurting. They're both kinda selfish in their own ways, and it only escalates when the brothers argue in front of the portal. Ford continuing to push Stan away from him even after this reunion and Stan feeling more and more betrayed by his brother and acting irrationally led to where they were so busy fighting each other, neither of them noticed the portal activating. Stan certainly didn't know that shoving his brother a few inches back would get Ford dragged into the portal, and like before, Stan tried to fix it. They're both at fault in their own ways, and it's up to both of them to try and reconcile with each other if they can.

"A darkness approaches. A day will come in the future when everything you care about will change.", said Bill while showing the six-fingered hand. Seems like Ford's return to Gravity Falls after 30 long years is definitely going to change some things for Dipper and Mabel.

  3. I absolutely LOVE your reaction series, it's so incredible seeing you go so in-depth, and all the things you point out are like amazing. Like you're pointed out things I've never even known the significance of and I'm absolutely OBSESSED with this show and have watched it multiple times and I could practically recite it forwards and backwards. This show is just so good and I love watching you poke around in how in-depth it is. It's really interesting seeing the approach you take it as a FNAF theorist, looking at a bunch of isolated frames, and coming to these conclusions in such a different way from how I did? Like, I'm a writer myself, so I figured Stan was looking for a family member just based on his character and his disregard of the danger and the fact that it would make narrative sense for him to be looking for a specific person who was very important to him and I never really got into the codes or the small background details, which I think is just part of how good this show is. Also I really appreciate your appreciation of the characters, too! Like, so many people love to blame either Stan or Ford (mostly Ford, naturally, since we're already so attached to Stan) for all the stuff that happens but it isn't really either of their faults, per say, it's just. A really shitty situation and they're both freaking traumatized and neither of them have the perspective to understand why the other is acting out in the way they are. And it sucks.
Looking forward to the rest of the series X)

  4. Every time he said tattoo it just hurt a little more cause it's not a tattoo it's a brand and poor stan got branded (i know that may be the wrong word but it's a symbol that was burned into his skin so ima use it) by his brother on accident and had to just go with others calling it a tattoo ;-;

  5. Guide to the codes of the video, or how I call it "Ozone's Funzone":

The first codes are at 25:05 (first shown on the Not What He Seems premiere trailer), these are caesars, first one is obviously "COMING SOON" and the second one is "STAY TUNED…". There's also a text in the same scene where the letters in the bottom say "CAN YOU SOLVE IT?"

The credits code it's a binary code, the blank spaces are 0s and the black spaces are 1s, if we do that with all the spaces we get "01010101 01010010 01000001 01001101 01000001 01011010 01001001 01001110 01000111", that translates to "UR AMAZING"

    Hope you like it 💜

  6. the name swap caused much drama before the ford reveal; people were to straight up ready throw hands over “stanford’s” car having the “STNLYMBL” license plate. obviously in hindsight that plate was maybe the biggest bit of foreshadowing we had (the bait-and-switch shot of ford in the winter doesn’t count) but back in the day there was a heated debate over whether it was a clue about a secret brother, another one of stan’s fake names, a stolen car, the props designer just not getting the memo, etc

  7. i have seen out there a 4 hour video essay on this episode alone, analyzing practically frame by frame

def recommend it once you’ve finished the series/journal 3/book of bill as it contains spoilers for all of those. this is my favorite ep in the series and there is so much in every single frame of it

  8. its really quite impressive what they accomplished in under 30 minutes, plot per minute ratio is through the Roof.
i have been diving into fic archives and when i tell you theres a lot of fics around this episode? There Are Really A Lot, even just the portal scene on its own, the fans really sunk their teeth into this.
frankly, if anyone is in the wrong its filbrick pines, dad of the freaking century over here, stan literally could not have been even 18 at the time, The Bag Was Already Packed.
(shout out to hana hyperfixates, their 4 hour long analysis video on this episode did not Singlehandedly give me The Brain Worms, but it did not help!)

  9. Finally caught up to the series, really enjoying it so far. I love how much you theorize and decipher and pay attention to the small details, definitely in the spirit of the old days when it was uncertain what eacn new episode will bring to the table. Your reaction series also shows why having proper knowledge about some things is important, because I'm still physically in pain because of hieroglyphics alphabet and and calling zodiac wheel (although slightly changed) "numerology".

Also dear god, you're squishy. Gravity Falls isn't even that heartbreaking, especially at the point before 2×12. That clearly shows that you have little experience with such shows. So I absolutely agree that you need to check out other series, even if they aren't as cryptic as GF. Because believe me, Amphibious will SHATTER you. Other series also may fit that role, and also do imply a lot of lore to theorize about.
