  1. Beautiful plane and smooth flying sir!! Keep up the great vids you two!:) Found this info on the "inter-webs". 😉 “Duchess Arlene” was a P-51D assigned to Lt. Robert W. Williams of the 100th FS, 332nd FG in 1945. Williams shot down one of the Luftwaffe’s Me 262 jet fighters on 24 March 1944 and on 31 March 1944 shot down a pair of Fw 190s".

  2. OMG 😮
I had no idea you were injured. So glad you're ok, Brian. I had a similar bike injury as a teen. Quick release front wheel on my 10 speed (yep, im that old) released. I still dont remember any of it.
Spent an entire summer vacation recovering.
I can totally emphasize with you there.
Thank God you're back in front of the camera 😊

  3. @BrianPhillipsRC! I like the works you and your camera crew present to the audience. Special applause to your camera crew for her excellent skills in videography!
Brian! I have not yet come across your presentation of gas-jetfuel-powered equipment. If you have not already done that, would you please consider doing so at the earliest?

  4. Hey Brian thanks for another awesome video, I just wanted to share that I started watching your videos precisely with the Mustang P-51D but the blue one from horizon and I got pretty excited to start in this hobby since I always wanted an rc plane in my childhood but wasn't possible, so, glad to tell you that I already started with the carbon cub S 2 and I think I'm doing great, that much that I already ordered the Mustang P-51D (I've been practicing a lot in the simulator for this one), greetings for you and the camera crew from Monterrey, Mexico, I watch your videos with my wife and we looove your place, those sunsets with the green fields are so lovely! keep up the good videos Brian ✌🏻

  5. Hey Brian, do you have any 5s batteries you could try? I find 5s can be a sweet spot for these planes that just need a little bit more oomph. Seems to be a good trade off when your not sure if 6s will lead to a melt down. I have a question about your amazon link for purchasing. Should it take me directly to the listing, or should I have to search for it? I picked up the P-47 yesterday, but wasn't sure if the link worked properly. Keep up the great work guys!

  6. Brian, help me out here.

You have well over $1000 in smart packs sitting in your kitchen. You well well over $4000 in aircraft in your basement.

Are you seriously suggesting a $100 avian 100mAh esc out of your budget to get this bird 6s super power?

You make me want to repower this bird with the esc and the motor from the V1200 to see what it can handle.. will the motor mounts fit?

    Ps, luv ya 😘

  7. Pretty sure I had a version 2 or similar early version many years ago. That one needed a ton of mods just to stiffen it up and keep it in the air but man it looked real in the sky!
I seem to remember it was easy to fly as well and I dont remember it having any stabilisation – I was a way better pilot back then though!

  8. Thanks for doing this video!! I’ve been debating on whether to pick up the one in stock at my local Hobby Town and you’ve just made that decision easy. Heading there ASAP. The Red Tails paved the way for my opportunities as an African American Naval Aviator, so I need this in my hangar.

  9. Hey Brian, I still watch even though I don't need to . I've been through 3 or 4 transmitters and I've now landed on the IX14. I truly love that new IX14 transmitter between ergonomics and ease of use puts it at the top of the list for me .

  11. Brian, looking great. yeah, I agree. Need little mo power. But she still looks good. I just spent an evening this past week with a new member to our club. He's hooked and doing the right thing. He just picked up an Aeroscout and all I need to do is get him some more stick time. Love to see new folks getting into the hobby. Makes me feel good and keeps me energized too. Hang in there my friend. Hello Megan and fam too…

  12. Hi Brian, I just finished setting up telemetry on my turbo timber evo and I put in 4 for the total cells. If I fly it on 3s do I change that number to 3?

  13. The 132d Wing's P-51 Mustang, "Duchess Arlene", was dedicated in 2002 to the Iowa Tuskegee Airmen!
These famous Airmen were members of the 99th Fighter Squadron, 332nd Fighter Group and 477th Bombardment Group from 1941-1945 during WWII.
A little local flavor for you!!

Great looking plane. The livery is the Tuskegee airmen Red Tails. Tuskegee Alabama, they have a museum dedicated to them. It’s not far from Birmingham Alabama.

  18. If this has the fms 3948 760kv motor FMS state max 18volt motor, 56amp max. 860watt max . 14.8v x 56amp =830 watt. if 6s 22.2vx 56amp = 1243 watts. I suspect the motor windings may not take 1243 watts or 1400 watts on a full battery !!!. In my fms PC21 I use fms 3648 870kv motor 195gm 18v max 70amp max 950w max. ( FMS Nemesis motor ) Perhaps the extra 110kv on the stock 4 blade prop will do the trick on 4 s and it should be a straight swap if you can find one ? I suspect the diameter and pitch of the 4 blade prop will be the limiting factor ! 70amp motor max x14.8v = 1030 watts. 16.8v =1176 watts !!! Having said that I would prefer to just fly it scale on the stock system with a 3000mah 4s and a bit of lead at the front to keep the overall weight down. I have had an old foam 1400mm lanyu models P51D Mustang with the 3948 760kv fms motor 3000mah 4s and 70amp esc, 2100gms all up flying weight for the last 8 years which is now on my third colour scheme and I still fly as my go to, fly any weather model . Of late I have been using a 5500mah 4s on the windy days as it gives a bit more stability, though the gyro also helps a bit in that respect. 🙂

  19. I resubscribed because you do put great effort into your videos. I had unsubscribed because i asked a question and your answer sounded as though you were just pushing product which I did not like. I don't believe that to be true, you want us to have a good experience with RC flying but….. it does seem there is not a whole lot of support for making the new stuff work on what I'm finding out is older equipment. I have a DX6e and the support I have gotten from both Spektrum and Horizon Hobby has been lacking.

  20. Love this plane, you can get the props from the eflite one (with the yellow nose) and a 6s esc and run 4s-6s all day, the motor is the same as the eflite one but 100kv more, so it's about as fast on 4s as the eflite one on 6s then 6s makes it a little faster but heaps of grunt!
