For short haul flights, modern seaplanes could at least offer the promise of vastly cheaper architecture. Rather than pouring vast concrete runways and tarmac, you build a perimeter levee and fill it 3 or 4 meters deep. Could double as flood control or a reservoir!

Well done overall. It was a little heavy on British civil aviation achievements. What about the Jets, both Russian and US? Be-10, Be-12, P-6M etc?
Some of the music choices in this film was quite amusing.
The music is too loud, distracting and unnecessary.
It's annoying that even a documentary cannot tell the difference between a flying boat and a float plane!
If I was an eccentric billionnaire I'd buy a Shorts Sunderland and convert it into a flying houseboat and just spend the rest of my days flying all around the world in it!
