The Florida State Seminoles delivered a huge Week 1 win over the LSU Tigers, 24-23 in New Orleans. FSU quarterback Jordan Travis threw for 260 yards and 2 touchdowns while Ontaria Wilson led the wide receivers with 7 catches for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns. Running back Treshaun Ward rushed for 49 yards, and linebacker DJ Lundy rushed for a touchdown. Florida State’s special teams came up huge by blocking the game-tying extra point attempt with no time remaining on the clock and recovering two muffed punts in the game.

  3. Although it ultimately made for a thrilling ending, Norvell's decision to go for it on 4th and 2 up 7-3 was an asinine decision that almost cost his team the game.

    Coaches continuously underestimate the importance of scoring at all, including with field goals, partly because people reward this sort of "aggression." In FSU's case, you have 1) a lowish-scoring game, 2) a defense (yours) that is playing well, and 3) plenty of opportunities for more possessions. And you have the lead. So there's absolutely no reason to not extend your lead by 3 instead of taking a much higher chance at scoring ZERO. Kyle Whittingham did the same thing against Florida and it cost him.

  11. Noles made a lot of improvements…..
    BUT has a lot more to make. Coaches should've kicked for 3 at half-time instead of going for it on 4th and 2. And obviously you do not go for a pitch on 2nd and Goal at the end of the game.

  12. They were in it to the end because of BK. But with all that talent he can't catch it or kick it for them. As an LSU fan this is good to see for the future though. Fought to the end. Team didn't implode. Not the end of the world. This season we didn't have expectations to the moon anyways. Coach O left us with 38 scholarship guys.

  22. The holder on that play for the extra point should of pitched to the kicker and had enough room for a Semi truck to go on the left side? He could of walked in? He could of moon walked in?

  29. Brian Kelly has his groupies. Assistant Denbrock goes way back to when BK was at Grand Valley. Polian has gone from bad to worse. These are facts. Look at how much $$ BK is making and look at what LSU has. BK was outcoached by young HCs from Ball St. and Toledo, there is no denying it. LSU should look for a sane young coach next time, they are easily found and practice sound playcalling.
