Florida Sheriff Execute PIT on Fleeing Suspect

On March 25th, 2022, at approximately 11:20 AM, a deputy from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office was informed by a detective about a gray, older-style Suburban SUV that was fleeing from St. Lucie County Sheriff deputies towards 27th Avenue at the south county line. The deputy spotted the vehicle driving recklessly northbound on 27th Avenue, moving into oncoming traffic lanes without any police pursuit nearby. When the suspect noticed a patrol car with emergency lights, he altered his path and eventually made a U-turn upon detecting the deputy’s marked car, prompting the deputy to engage in pursuit.

  1. ALL Officers do an awesome job, but it seems like Troopers have a little extra okay to do PITS at their discretion instead of getting permission like the other Officers do.
But whenever their done it's done with precision most times which is great for the Officers and public.
MUCH RESPECT FOR THE OFFICERS BOTH HUMAN AND K9 WHO PUT THEIR LIVES ON THE LINE EVERY DAY TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC ❤️🤍💙.
Stay safe so you can go home at the end of your shift to your families 🙏.
