best "nature fights back" film I've seen yet. NOT set in modern day with dummies running around brainless and making mistake after mistake. These were educated young people using the tech of the day and using their heads.

Alternate ending…When she reaches a "safe spot" in the woods right by the train tracks and hearing birds chirping, seeing butterflies in the air and hearing the train whistle blow with the accompanying joyful soundtrack, the music abruptly stops, and she's torn apart by a pack of ferocious wolves. Her book with all the warning documentary and sketches lands on the tracks and… (Wait for it) is run over by the train and the papers fly in every direction. I think this ending rivals (even tops) the ending to "All Quiet on the Western Front" in hopeless savagery and despair. How evil is that? THAT would make it a TRUE HORROR MOVIE. Steven King has got nothing on me. FLORIA would become a cult classic for the mentally twisted. To even think of such an ending must mean that I might just be…well, you know the thing.

Having a science (micro) background and camping in the Algonquin Nature Preserve, this was a movie I found fascinating. I did not feel my intelligence was “challenged” like some of the movies on this channel.
