FLOODED & BOGGED! Do we get out? Once in a decade storm Floods Australia’s DRIEST town!

This week on OFFGRID, Graham and the convoy are heading North on their way from Esperance to Darwin via the legendary 620KM long Oodnadatta Track. It’s early in the season, and the crew are travelling ahead of the crowds and cool weather of the winter months; but that comes with its own risks.

A late wet season rain obliterates the north end of the track, turning roads into rivers and making for wild conditions. The crew fights road closures, deep crossings and muddy bypasses and as they try to push through to one of Australia’s remotest pubs, the Mt Dare Hotel.

When and where is your next adventure? Tell us about it and spare no detail!

  1. Uno what would be great in the roo stew? Is our Australian(WA) grown and made dehydrated mushrooms or mushroom powder :-), our 25.1 powder takes 25kg to make 1kg of powder, so handy when backpacking, camping and going offroad.

  2. I think your bait needs to be smelly. Your Yabbies there and my Crawdads here, search by scent in the muddy water. In clear water, they will grab almost anything. We used tin foil on a string when I was a kid. Thanks for the fun video!

  3. Oh man, imagine the caravans having power of their own with axial flux motors in each wheel. Not needing too much power or large batteries. Just having the power to get moving out of tight situations, short burst of torque at low rpm.
