Thankfully,someone did a tribute to Hammer Films,immortalizing these works forever.
I wish Hammer could still exist as it did then . I think people have grown too cyynical and jaded for it to work today but I would be happy at least.
About 5 or 6 years ago I heard some buzz about David Tennant reprising Quatermass , but sadly it never materialized . I thought it a champion idea .
I liked American Quatermass but I get the British reservations about it .
I saw The Trolenberg Terror and considering the budget I liked it . It was an enjoyable little film .

Hammer Horror Just Brilliant and still Brilliant Today
Hammer films were like horror comics come to life . All of that bright color .
It may be time that horror returns back to its gothic roots . I cannot say I have enjoyed very many horror films as of late .
I can only imagine the furor by the religious as a movie posited that humanity was developed by aliens and not by divine decree
I remember Hammer films and tv programmes as a child in the early 80s and what little I was able to watch, scared the granny out of me!

My first exposure to films from Hammer studios were, "The Quatermass Xperiment" and "X – The Unknown." As a kid, both of those films gave me lasting nightmares. Likewise, for "Five Million Years to Earth."
Thanks for posting this documentary. Over the years, I've only seen bits and pieces of this show. Having Lee and Cushing narrating this was a nice touch. I'm surprised that they didn't mention the plans for a Vampirella movie near the end of the 70s. With Caroline Monro and Peter Cushing.
Hollywood made good horror films in it's day. I know I enjoyed them. From the day's of Lon Chaney Sr. To Vincent Price but NOTHING or NO ONE has made GREAT horror classics like Hammer Films with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. I grew up on the Fangs of Lee
To this day, I've yet to see Doctor Jekyll and Sister Hyde. My favorite Hammer movie of the '70s is probably Vampire Circus.

Hats off to Hammer films, and to the best Dracula of all time, Sir Christopher Lee.
Every time those Worthless Critics would say that a movie was bad, or gave it a terrible Review, THAT'S WHAT THE PUBLIC LOVED AND WANTED !!!
AND, when these Worthless Critics said that a movie was great, and gave it a wonderful and glowing Review, it turned out to be a real Snoozer, Stinker, and Stunk, AND THE PUBLIC HATED IT.
It finally got to the point, that I Myself Knew, to Go to the ones that where given bad Reviews, and Stear Clear of the ones that were given those Reviews, that Critics said were so great.
CRITICS WERE ALWAYS WRONG, AND OFF BASE, OF WHAT THE PUBLIC LIKED, WANTED, AND LOVED !!!!
When you see the part that says "WHERE". MY SPACE BAR CHANGED THE WORD, BECAUSE THE WORD I TYPED WAS "WERE".!!
It is always changing Letters and Entire Words, making for Improper and Wrong English.
And quite frankly I'm sick of it.
WHY DID QUATERMASS and tHE PIT (5 million years to earth) get BANNED????
Hey– if the "CRITICS" hate it— it's GREAT.. if critics like it– it's TRASH– that is a STANDARD FACT– Critics should be HOT, HANGED or run over… either way- they need to be ELLIMINATED!!!! they're almost as worthless as DEMOCRATS—- almost— NOT QUITE- NOTHING really THAT bad– but almost!!
Baker horror and amicus made really good atmospheric horror film much better than the 80s teen slasher trash that came after, Should bring it back modernised but still keeping the style and story types. Great actors too.
Have my own collection of the best Hammer movies, as well as Amicus. xx
