  1. Fleetwood Mac were a blues band until Peter Green left and the girls came in. Irish bluesman Gary Moore did this song note for note as a tribute to Green who was a fabulous guitarist but troubled mentally.

  4. Peter Green (RIP) played with his heart and soul…pure emotion through his guitar strings….this was the original all English band. Try 'Man of the world" another pure emotional ride.

  5. B B King said Peter Green was the only guitarist who gave him the cold sweats. That was after hearing him plea with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers at 19. Peter Green formed but was so modest the named the band after Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. It is worth checking out the full 6 minute version of this as it was shortened for release as a single. Also check out Jumping At Shadows live at Boston for the best guitar solo you will here. Les Paul Gibson perfection. He actually used a Les Paul Gibson on Need Your Love So Bad but just picked up a Strat as it was the nearest guitar when they were asked to make a promo video. His guitar playing was supposedly so inspired on this because B B King walked into the studio in Belgium when they were doing it. There were a few cuts but they released this one with the strings on on B B King’s recommendation. All their albums with Peter Green on are worth listening to.
Look up The Stumble he did as a 19 year old with John Mayall to see how good he was. Mayall gave him some studio time as a 19th birthday present. One track he recorded was Supernatural and see how in front of the time he was. You will also hear where Carlos Santana got his inspiration from.

  6. Peter Grreen was in the original Fleetwood Mac…. the singer and guitarist. There were 3 versions of the band as far as I can tell…. the one with Peter Green, the one in between Peter Green and when the girl singers joined the band , when they had Danny Kirwin and the other guitar player whose name escapes me at the moment . All three versions of the band had something interesting to offer. You should also check out the version of the band that had Danny Kirwin on guitar. Tell Me All The Things You Do is a great song from them and so is the song Station Man. I think you'd like it. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

  7. Well in the late 60s most bands were blues based rock n roll, but the 70s came in and of course record companies told musicians what to play , just My 2 cents, atleast the blues is coming back, Gary Clark Jr for 1, I want a blues revolution, LOL, I am sick of soulless music, AKA Metallica and the likes, LOL,

  8. A lot of people are not aware that Fleetwood Mac started as a blues/blues rock band. They did a lot of good stuff, including Black Magic Woman. Santana gets the credit for it but Fleetwood Mac are the originators. Check out the original by them!

Also check out the song "Oh Well"

  9. Man I'm not a massive Buckingham/Nicks era fan so I'm biased but the Peter Green era is superior in every way. He's one of the most criminally underrated and unknown guitarists of the 60/70's.

For some of his other songs that might appeal to you try:

    Closing my Eyes
    Leaving Town Blues
    Black Magic Woman
    Man of The World
Albatross (though it's an instrumental it's a vibe)

  10. Pretty much 2 different bands. Peter Green era, he quits, and allows Mick to keep the name. Mick Fleetwood then goes to the states, takes the name with him. Lindsay Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, etc join and the rest is history.

  11. They were big before the change up in the 70s, Peter Green formed the band with Mick Fleetwood and were blues based for sure. It's a shame that most people are unaware of Peter Green and Danny Kirwins work. As a British guitarist myself, they are my hero's. If you get chance, listen to the record "Live In Boston Remastered Vol" 1, 2 and 3. They are on Spotify and other platforms. You'll be glad you did!
