Looks like you are building up for a great pen, ink, paper test. Interested in seeing where it all goes.
I am looking forward to seeing more of your TK Maxx discoveries!
TK Maxx is the equivalent of TJ Maxx/Homegoods in the United States. Whenever I visit the store, I make a beeline for the stationery aisle to check out their selection and then browse through their coffee selection. I am a big fan of freshly ground coffee and have even posted a couple of videos on my other channel showing how I prepare my morning brew. I have discovered some excellent whole bean, Italian roast coffee at TK Maxx that I really enjoy.
I wanted to talk about the stationery section at the store. Recently, it seems like the aisle at my local store has become smaller, maybe only a quarter of its previous size. Initially, we had around three-quarters of the aisle and an endcap. It grew slightly during the Christmas holiday season, but when I returned after Christmas to check the clearance items, I couldn't find anything. I'm hoping that they moved everything to a different aisle, and I just couldn't locate it. I was disappointed because I wanted to buy a notebook I saw previously with a burgundy tweed cover material with red-edged paper. The notebook looked very upscale and elegant, and it was somewhere between A6 and A5 size. I have become good at identifying paper quality just by touch, and I can tell if it will be fountain pen-friendly about 90% of the time. The paper in that notebook felt like it was fountain pen-friendly, but I guess I'll never know. I haven't returned to the store since then, but I might drop by this weekend.
I bought my first Moleskine about the same time I bought my first Filofax, about 2002, the Moleskine was very expensive especially for an A6, but I was enthused by the stories of Hemingway using one and whilst it has been carried around fairly extensively only the most important notes where added in it, i have not daily carried it for about 10 years but it still gets taken on holidays with important info on the trip in paper format every few years. 20 years old and I would sat 1/5 used so far, so certainly good value now.
Fountain pens aren't my bag baby 😂 But that's OK, but I have to say, the pen stand on the ink bottle – I love that! Such a simple yet effective thing to do. 👏 👏
I agree Tk Maxx is definitely worth checking from time to time. I recently picked up several Leuchtterm pocket and A5 hardback notebooks very cheaply.
The pen holder on the ink bottle is so clever. The Moleskine is a nice color and a good deal. Thanks for sharing! Peace and love..Suz What ☮️💛
Some notebooks can be alluring. We don’t need them but we want them. 😅
