Kayak fishing with a rat lure on a quiet little lake! I planned on calling it a day after spending all afternoon here, but the weather was perfect and I couldn’t leave without finishing off the day trying out the rat!

On the Sunday morning couch w my daughter? Check. Fresh cup of coffee? Check. Spitting coffee as Matt's first cast goes to the next county and is picked up by local airport radar? Check.
awesome video as always. Great way to spend some time on a cold day in kentucky
Good work Matt! Always nice to watch your videos on a freezing cold winter day. Can’t wait for the 2025 season
Ahhh a nice warm summer night! What I wouldn't give for that right now! 16 degrees as I watch this. 😭
Very good. Which state or states are you fishing in?
No music. No profanity. No “ OMG’s”.
Just fishing the way I would do it, if I could.
Not that I’d be that successful. I don’t fish natural lakes that have existed since The Ice Age, but deep Southern impoundments surrounded by the Appalachians.
I can't wait to go fishing again this year with my kayak….Thanks for making my day with this video 😉
Words spoken by every true fisherman, "…just one more fish…"
Dudes the definition of “just a chill guy”
well done
Amazing fishing! 🌊 There are even more exciting videos on catching big bass on my channel. The link is in the bio.
Hadir kembali kawan mantap spotnya mancing sukses slalu ❤❤❤
I love that rat lure. I bought it several years ago and i find it catches more fish than the other brands. I think it looks more realistic when it walks, to be honest. Love the video. Thanks!
That Spro rat bbz1 40 size is hard to find. I bought a 50. Way way too big. I bought a 25 and 30 too small. Finally bought a 40. Just right
Not only was it a great surprise to see this wintertime video, it was also a pleasure to see a fellow angler actually "fishing." That is to say, without using forward facing electronics. I have flatly refused to watch any YouTube videos or television programs that feature that forward facing crappola. Thank you for posting and for staying the course of "traditional" fishing!
Nice to see the LMB after all the river smallies! Great vid!
Why you always sound so out of breath?
My wife’s least favorite 4 words. “Just one more cast”
Nice fish and spot! Just wondering do you pinch your barbs down for easier removal? Tks

What Yak do you use? Would love a video on it!
One more fish!!! One more fish!!! Yessssss!!!!😂
haha I love the bonus footage, Matt! I was about to close my window and I saw there was still a minute left in the video…was happy to see you catch just one more! What an awesome day!
What an excellent day! There's something about that topwater bite! Thanks for another great video!
10/10 content. Thanks bud. I needed this today
Sometimes, in the cold winter months of Minnesota, I will stop by NDYak's channel and watch videos like this. It calms me down and gives me a little hope that beautiful summers like this will be here soon… 🙁
It was in the teens here today, cold and snowy. But the moment I first tuned into the video, I had this overwhelming feel of a warm late summer's eve. Sooooo nice!
Do a video fishing with a cane pole
Hey, kinda random but for bigger bass like this do you have a preferred line to use? I've been having trouble breaking off on bigger bass with line that shouldn't be breaking. I'm having to open the bail more than I feel I should just out of worry. Any advice helps, thanks! Love your videos
