Day 2 – GONE MISSING: The Search for 66 y/o James Antonson

Out now for Members (Public Release TBD)

James, a Caucasian male with a stature of 5’9″ and weighing around 180 lbs, was last seen by his family on that fateful evening. The narrative is puzzling: he left his home around 6 pm, supposedly to scout a fishing spot. Yet, he took no fishing equipment and drove away in his car, never to return. The clock ticked, the hours passed, and a chilling silence ensued. His family, fraught with worry, reported him missing.

The plot thickens as we consider the backdrop. James was no stranger to Killeen. Why then would he venture out to a fishing spot he likely knew like the back of his hand? And why leave behind his fishing gear? These perplexities form the crux of our investigation.

At Adventures With Purpose, we believe in leaving no stone unturned. Our team, armed with state-of-the-art magnetometers and sonar equipment, set out to probe the depths of potential bodies of water in and around Killeen. The car, also missing, was a crucial piece of this intricate puzzle. If we could locate the vehicle, perhaps we’ll locate James.

Our initial focus was a lake proximate to James’s residence, the nearest boat ramp from his home. The challenges were manifold. The dense underwater foliage threatened to obscure any significant findings. Yet, our magnetometer and sonar pierced through the aquatic maze, seeking anomalies, searching for that elusive vehicle.

As the sun set on the day James disappeared, around 8:30 pm, the waters would have been bustling with boats. Our team pondered over the likelihood of James choosing such a time for his mysterious outing. Each scan, each sonar ping, and each magnetometer reading added a new layer to this intricate tapestry of mystery.

This isn’t just an investigation; it’s a tale of suspense, of hope, and of relentless pursuit. It’s about a family’s anguish, a community’s quest for answers, and our commitment to solving the mysteries that confound many. Every lead, every discovery, every moment of anticipation is a step closer to the truth.

Join Adventures With Purpose on this journey. As we navigate the waters of Killeen, Texas, we seek to unravel the mystery of James Frederick Antonson’s disappearance. In a world where mysteries abound, we are the beacon of hope, shining a light on the darkest of cases.

  2. This case is the proverbial "needle in a haystack," so little information for you to work with. Of one thing I am certain, if you find any vehicles, you will clear them. I'm just hoping for your sake, you don't have to search any underwater car parks like some of the locations you have had in the past. Take care, be safe always. Cheers from Australia. ❤🦘

  3. You said you don't know what sort of vehicle he was driving! How are you going to know it's his car. You could find 100 cars but don't know if it's his or not! Surely a family member or friend would know what he was driving. Or DMV!You would have to find a body a do a DNA test other wise. What if there is no body in any of the cars! You don't even know where he went, he could have drove 30-100 miles away! You must surely know what you are looking for, you have to know what type of car it is. You can't tell me not one person who knew him didn't know what type of car or colour it was, surely you asked around his friends and family and work place or asked to see work cameras or someone's cameras he knew. If not how will you know it's his car or not, without a body or any paper work in the car. And no photo! You usually take to the family and get as much info as possible you email and talk to them. Why didn't you do any research this time. I don't believe you would go searching without knowing what type of car you are looking for. Why wouldn't you research this one! You only have two days for it. Why wouldn't you find out the type of car! Wasn't it in the missing person report!

  4. Hello AWP, I have a request. On May 18, 1980, Mt. St. Helens erupted in Washington state. A 30-year-old USGS volcanologist was stationed at the Coldwarter II observation post. Neither his car nor his camper, let alone he, were ever found. I have the exact coordinates of Coldwater II. Would you consider using a metal detector to examine the area directly adjacent to Coldwater II and to the west of it. The engine block of his car should still be found today as a large lump of metal in the ground. It would be great if you could possibly work with the USGS and find him. At that time he was the only one who correctly interpreted the signs of the eruption. He doesn't deserve to lie in an unmarked grave somewhere in no man's land.
