Set in a fictional universe where select individuals possess the power to telekinetically manipulate one of the four elements – water, earth, fire, or air – just like its precursor, the series centers on the unique “Avatar.” This individual alone has the ability to bend all four elements, tasked with upholding equilibrium in the world. Following Avatar Korra, a reincarnation of the previous series’ Aang, the story unfolds against a backdrop of political and spiritual unrest in a world rapidly modernizing.
The series features key characters voiced by talented actors like Janet Varney, Seychelle Gabriel, David Faustino, P. J. Byrne, J. K. Simmons, and Mindy Sterling. Noteworthy supporting voice actors include Aubrey Plaza, John Michael Higgins, Kiernan Shipka, Lisa Edelstein, Steve Blum, Eva Marie Saint, Henry Rollins, Anne Heche, and Zelda Williams. Many individuals from the creative team behind “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” including designer Joaquim Dos Santos, writer Tim Hedrick, and composers Jeremy Zuckerman and Benjamin Wynn, returned to contribute to “The Legend of Korra.”
The first season, Book One: Air, sees Korra move to Republic City to learn airbending from Tenzin, Avatar Aang’s son. She joins a pro-bending team alongside the brothers Bolin and Mako, and befriends Asami Sato, heiress to a leading engineering corporation. The ambitious politician Tarrlok enlists Korra to fight the anti-bender uprising of the “Equalists”, led by the masked Amon, who strips benders of their abilities. Korra and her friends, aided by police chief Lin Beifong, unmask Amon as a waterbender himself and Tarrlok’s brother, ending the Equalists’ coup.

Re: the Meelo Lemur Training, I don't think it's unrelated or only for comedic effect. Tenzin has to look at his own actions by seeing how his advice to Meelo plays out. Tenzin just wanted Meelo to learn how to tame a single lemur to be his pet. Instead, Meelo trains a whole army to follow his every command. This falls outside Tenzin's intention. Tenzin's interactions with his family have often related to his relationship with Korra to some extent. Fighting with his siblings is as emotionally charged and irrational as his arguments with Korra. In the previous episode, Ikki realizes that sometimes loved ones needs to be forgiven, just as Tenzin may have to forgive Korra. Meelo went in his own crazy direction with Tenzin's teachings, just as Korra does with airbending. Also, at the end, Meelo and the lemur aren't happy – sure, they are efficient and tactical, but they aren't happy.
Tenzin realises that his methods, though effective, may be too controlling. Meelo serves as a mirror for Tenzin in that episode.

What really STINGS (hehe) is that the whole premise of Mako telling on Korra to the President was on the basis of "you are a man of the law before all else", and then the next episode, he specifically goes outside the law to help Asami; conspiring with shitty shady people and even enlisting them to help. They are criminals, LMFAO. It just makes Mako look like a raging hypocrite and biased against Korra (to us).

Must say Mako snitching on Korra preventing her from protecting her entire tribe because it’s his job/ duty to be honest just to turn around and go behind his boss, disobey order, make a deal with criminals, use the Avatars name to make the deal to prove his point is hilarious 😂😂… the double standard & hypocrisy is on another level

I still feel weird hearing Dante's voice coming from General Iroh's mouth. I feel weird Dante's voice coming from his own mouth. His voice is so different and stands out to me, my mind glitches if it comes from someone else's voice which is not Zuko. I'm just thinking how weird it'll sound when the live action actor of Zuko will say that line. (No hate towards anything it'll just take time for me lol)
