Badd Medicine here and its reaction time

Set in a fictional universe where select individuals possess the power to telekinetically manipulate one of the four elements – water, earth, fire, or air – just like its precursor, the series centers on the unique “Avatar.” This individual alone has the ability to bend all four elements, tasked with upholding equilibrium in the world. Following Avatar Korra, a reincarnation of the previous series’ Aang, the story unfolds against a backdrop of political and spiritual unrest in a world rapidly modernizing.

The series features key characters voiced by talented actors like Janet Varney, Seychelle Gabriel, David Faustino, P. J. Byrne, J. K. Simmons, and Mindy Sterling. Noteworthy supporting voice actors include Aubrey Plaza, John Michael Higgins, Kiernan Shipka, Lisa Edelstein, Steve Blum, Eva Marie Saint, Henry Rollins, Anne Heche, and Zelda Williams. Many individuals from the creative team behind “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” including designer Joaquim Dos Santos, writer Tim Hedrick, and composers Jeremy Zuckerman and Benjamin Wynn, returned to contribute to “The Legend of Korra.”

The first season, Book One: Air, sees Korra move to Republic City to learn airbending from Tenzin, Avatar Aang’s son. She joins a pro-bending team alongside the brothers Bolin and Mako, and befriends Asami Sato, heiress to a leading engineering corporation. The ambitious politician Tarrlok enlists Korra to fight the anti-bender uprising of the “Equalists”, led by the masked Amon, who strips benders of their abilities. Korra and her friends, aided by police chief Lin Beifong, unmask Amon as a waterbender himself and Tarrlok’s brother, ending the Equalists’ coup.

  1. It’s been said a million times but to reidderate as the bald guy in the right said in the warehouse Amon can sense we’re people are by their blood. He shed a tear cause he knew tarrlock was about to kill them both. In the attic he said “you’re all I have left in this world” it’s really sad tbh he could’ve stopped him if he wanted but he accepted it cause he saw even his own brother the last person he has left in his life can’t live with himself or him. Really sad. Also the season was rushed as hell because they were only budgeted and cleared for 1 season until this one took off so well. SPOILER (not anything story defining or important but could be considered one) SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER So they made the full story 1 season the next season plays off of this but it is a different villain each season. Since s1 and s2 had different villains they took that and ran with it for s3 and s4. The story is congruent with itself and isn’t like different eras or anything there is a time skip between s3/4 of a couple years. But nothing major. Honestly I like Korra more than atla. And I think you guys will too it’s more mature

  2. I was adamant until the actual reveal that Amon was an old Aang disaffected with the world he created. That explained why Amon could take away people's bending and why Korra couldn't learn Airbending or why she couldn't connect with her spiritual side.

  3. The ending of this season has to be the hugest let-down in any piece of narrative ever. It really looked like they were doing something ballsy and interesting there for a moment, didn't it? But no. A popular revolution that has already conquered the world's most advanced city-state, and which possesses a high-tech military capable of taking out an entire army, just vanishes away — like POOF! — because a handful of people see evidence that its leader was lying about his personal history. Then our protagonist experiences a dark night of the soul which lasts about three seconds, before eeeeeeeverything is made right again. Yay.

  4. Book 2 is not as bad as some say it is. Sure it has it's bad moments, but without book 2, we wouldn't have book 3 and 4. Some episodes in Book 2 are absolutely amazing. Also there is a few new characters you will meet as well that will excite you. When you get to 7 and 8, they are a 2 part story, they are epic. Other than that, you are in for another new adventure with team Avatar.

  5. lol "I'm sorry I was a bad guy" like he did nothing basically.

Oh, completely forgot that this was the dumbass episode where he takes away her bending and she just suddenly GETS airbending from outta nowhere. and then she just randomly talks to Aang, and no consequences just gets everythng given back to her. Amazing =/

  6. ☆ The fact that she was able to get her abilities back easily was also to showcase the power of the avatar and how strong they are. Almost to show how they can’t be corrupted or changed as their somewhat pure energy and power

  7. When I first watched season one, I thought Tarlokk was Amon up until a certain point. He was obviously corrupt, seemed in on it, and to me, their voices sounded really similar. So like a Batman situation of duel identities during noght and day, I thought he was Amon, until I changed my mind and thought they had to have a serious connection of another sort and was right since they ended up being brothers. I have seen many reactions and no one has ever had the same idea of them being possibly the same person.

  8. We don't know major details, but that moment when Oak said that Asami might turn evil with the jealousy and etc, originally Asami WAS supposed to be a bad guy, but the fans loved her too much and things were changed in book 1. That might've been the moment it was originally going to happen.

  9. I think it’s a bit unfair to say that Amon just wants to be the only bender. He genuinely believes that bending causes nothing but grief, after all it was learning he was a water bender that ruined his life

  10. Hope is something you give yourself – Iroh

When we reach our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change – Aang

I have these two quotes in my head a lot this week!

  11. The creators were only given 1 season to tell the story so they "completed the story" within one. As it continued to do well, nickelodeon allowed for one more season so they pacing was thrown off. Book 3 is the best in my opinion, but it was alittle dark for nickelodeon so they only aired the 4th season online

  12. Amon didn’t want to be the only bender alive so he would be stronger than everybody else, he genuinely believes bending is the root of all evil because he associates it with his father’s evil.

  13. Asami is my favourite character throughout the whole series and why is because how they handled her in the first season. Constantly a red herring but then she shows how good hearted she is! Never going to the bad side just because of anger or frustration due to Mako's treatment. She always knew what was right and never put her own negative feelings ahead of her. And I just… it's so refreshing. When the show came out it wasn't really that used, you keep expecting her to turn with her side eyes and glares but she. never. does. Because it just wasn't her as a person.

And I just – oof such good character writing.

  14. I heard that when Korra was at the cliffside it's implied that she had suicidal ideation. She probably thought since she permanently lost her other 3 elements and could no longer perform as a proper Avatar that it'd be better if the next Avatar gets their cycle started soon so the world has an Avatar who can bend all 4 elements to protect it as soon as possible after her. What I love about the Legend of Korra is that they chose to delve into some pretty dark topics I mean that was also the case with ATLA but it feels a little more mature with LOK. Season 1 is really goated in my opinion it's one of the best for me especially with the Amon Tarrlok arc. I also love the implication that Noatak or Amon in that boat scene knew what his brother was doing but allowed for it to happen, I think it creates a way bigger impact that way and just perfectly encapsulates Noatak's struggle of seeking true equality, failing, and then being unable to see value in the world and his life without that goal that he so badly wanted to turn into reality. Amazing series.

  15. I don't know if anyone has already mentioned this, or if you've gone back and done any kind of research to find it out. The reason that the first season of Korra is referred to as "Air" is because in ATLA there were 3 seasons named Water, Earth, and Fire. Going through Aang's adventures while learning those respective elements. It's a nice way to continue the story.
