In the wake of the Blip, Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, faces the challenges of living up to the legacy of Steve Rogers. While on a mission to thwart terrorists, Sam is introduced to the Flag Smashers, a group with radical ideals. Sam’s partner, Joaquín Torres, investigates the Flag Smashers’ activities and ends up in a perilous situation.
Struggling with the Captain America mantle, Sam decides to place Steve’s shield in the Smithsonian, believing it belongs to Rogers. However, the U.S. Government appoints a replacement: John Walker. This decision angers Bucky Barnes, who joins Sam in an attempt to stop the Flag Smashers.
Their journey takes them to various places, including Munich, where they encounter the Flag Smashers, super-powered individuals created by a new Super Soldier Serum. The U.S. Government’s choice of Walker as Captain America further divides them.
In Latvia, the situation escalates when Walker takes the serum and confronts the Flag Smashers, resulting in a violent outcome. Sam and Bucky take the shield from Walker and convince the government to reconsider their policies.
The series ends with Sam embracing the Captain America role, symbolized by his new wingsuit. Sam and Bucky mend their relationship and unite to face the challenges in a world transformed by the Blip, reaffirming their dedication to justice and their roles as superheroes.

This is random, but have you ever thought about watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the one with Johnny Depp). I saw you guys react to the trailer of the new one coming out, and was wondering if you'll watch the 2005 one before the new one.

We have to remember the importance of when something is created in relation to history (just like when reading books – example To Kill a Mockingbird) that this series specifically this episode came out during the HEIGHT of the George Floyd Trail/M*rider and so that final scene… MAN.

I will say that when I first watched this series I couldn't stand John and that was because Wyatt did such an amazing job of creating this character that was so unlikeable. And having sat with it, it sort of makes sense. Because in a way he was thrust into this position to pick up the mantel that represented so much to so many different people. And then having to carry that legacy and factor in that he technically was the second choice because it was supposed to be Sam. I also remember from the First Avenger, when the Doctor was explaining to Steve that the serum enhanced what was already in you. That was why they picked Steve because it enchanced what was already good about him. For John, I think the doubt was already there from everything I've mentioned and that doubt led to that underlying anger. And so much of this episode really showed how out of the loop he is, you have Bucky and Sam basically doing everything and trying to reason with Karli. John was bound to take the serum because doubt was clouding his judgement and he was probably angry at himself for not being a better Captain America. And Lemer said he always made good decisions….but I imagine in combat he had to make the best decisions in the moment…even if it meant harming others. This was just an extreme of that. Besides all of that I absolutely loved the interaction with Ayo and Bucky and when she did the thing to his arm 😂 hilarious!

The shot of John with the bloody shield has to be one of the most iconic images from phase 4.
I still love the line about the serum just amplifying what's already there, so on top of getting super strength, agility, etc, you get Walker's unhinged personality turned up to 11. Definitely a character I'm looking forward to seeing more of in the future, especially since he and Bucky will both be in Thunderbolts together 👀
