The Continental: From the World of John Wick tells the background story of how Winston Scott, in an alternate history 1970s, came to his position as proprietor of the New York branch of “The Continental” chain of hotels, safe havens for legal assassins on the grounds of which no business may ever take place. It explores variations on real-world events, including the Winter of Discontent and the American Mafia’s rise to economic power.

  2. The actor playing Frankie is 6’3 so Mel’s lifts are doing a good job. Also, happy to see Mel again. Anyone else think Lord Farquhar when seeing the weirdo brother? My only complaint so far is how dark the show is. I love the cinematography, but it’s hard to see some things,( a lot of rewatching scenes). Ian excited for what’s coming. Frankie getting 86ed bummed me out, wanted to know more about him from him, not as secondhand info. It’s Winston’s story so it makes sense.

  3. Should check the licence plate on that Mustang and see if it's same… i was gonna do it but only just thought of it… also i'm old and lazy :p.

    I'm liking the series so far…i predict that Yen is pregnant as Frankie reminded me of John Wick and he and Yen are extremely good with guns and fighting…also he would be born at right time.

    So Winston ends up being his Uncle which is why they were always close ( plus he may get that car from him ).

    I have seen episode 2 so i have a very strong idea why that detective is after Winston… but i'll let you see that first.

  13. I watched EP 1 and 2 for free on Amazon Prime. I couldn't say the same about the John Wick series where I bought 1-2-3 as a bundle and 4th watched in the theaters. TBH watching EP 1 was quite emotional; seeing the Stang, all the moves that we see here from the brother of Winston seems to be stuff that later John Wick would borrow. I think they literally created John Wick on the framework of Winston's brother, since this is 30+ years before JW's story. To me this is not a TV series, it's freakin' movies. 1 and 2 so far it totally rocked the Continental, and I adore it. It's got my seal of approval, and the soundtrack is crazy. I don't mind the colors they fit the epoch to me. I see no fault, mind you someone could say some areas in the voice acting isn't all that good, or some camera moves were a bit basic. Well it's not JW movies, so I forgive that.

  15. I was really bummed that Frankie only lasted 1 episode. I really like that actor and hoped he'd lasted longer in the series. He was in the TV series Animal Kingdom which was really good, and was in like a dozen episodes of Vikings.

  17. I really like watching your reactions. If you've never seen Rise of the Guardians, I would love to see your reactions to that movie. It is animated, but a lot of fun and with great animation and tons of quick witted funny moments.
