Attack on Titan is set in a world where humanity lives inside cities surrounded by enormous walls due to the Titans, gigantic humanoid beings who devour humans. Season 1, episode 2, 14 minutes in, is the scene that Eren saw through his father's eyes in the memory in this episode.

Not a spoiler, but a reminder that might clarify something:
waaaaaay back in season one (after the titans' first attack) we see Eren, Armin, and Mikasa fleeing by boat. After that, the show cuts to a scene of Eren waking up somewhere in the inner walls next to the other two, at which point he looks down and realizes that the key to the basement is now hanging around his neck–which had not been there while they were fleeing–and he gets a brief flashback of him and his father in the woods together. In the flashback, his father urges him to find the basement.
One other thing happens in the flashback, but I won't recount it because it may be too much of a hint as to where the show will go from this point in s3.
The Coup d'etat = October revolution
The Reiss = The Romanovs.
Anastasia = Historia.
The reis family *HAD* abilities to manipulate memories, but they don't anymore, because certain someone stole their power as explained in the episode, as to why you'll see it in coming episodes.
You guys can stop apologizing for not liking the intro now lmao. It's okay to have varied tastes, and I don't like it much myself.

I'm surprised they didn't talk about who did Eren ate in order for him to gain that ability… They know that Titan need to eat someone with said ability to turn back into human… It's been revealed few episodes back… They either forgot about it or they didn't think about it just yet 😅

Guys, if you're confused, in episode 2, Eren puts the key inside his shirt. The very key his father showed him and said he'd explain to him after he returned. The thing is, Grisha took the key with him.
