i want to send yall a drainer as well ..when we cook hamburger we always drain it or the mean becomes to greesy still love yall!!!
I LOVE tuna helper on toasted bread. Canned mackerel goes well with it also. As an occasional meal, they are all pretty good. I ain't a picky eater though.
Love hamburger helper. better with cracked black pepper on it
I've never tried using pork with hamburger helper, since what we call hamburger is ground beef, but I do always cook my meat with aromatics, carrot, onion, a little garlic, and sometimes celery before adding the helper ingredients. I also like it spicy, so I add a teaspoon, or so , of cayenne pepper and then serve with pickled jalapenos on the plate. My mom would serve them with broccoli or some other green roasted vegetable, but I think jalapeno is green enough! 🙂 I'm really glad to see you call it "comfort food", though, Carol! It really is… salty, fatty, meaty – delish!
Can’t be an honorary American if you don’t have a steady diet of peanut butter! 😂 Need to try a peanut butter sandwich with strawberry jam on soft white bread! ❤ My husband is from another country and he can’t get over how much peanut butter Americans eat! On bananas, sliced apples, pancakes, crackers, in ramen noodles, spread on cabbage leaves and rolled up, in milkshakes, and peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate or rolled in powdered sugar… you name it and we can find a way to put peanut butter in it!
Hamburger helper was considered a poor man’s food but I had 6 children and this got us through rough times lol but the kids loved it they preferred the stroganoff flavor we would add onions to the meat
I like using Hamburger Helper as the "left over" meal. Let's say, one day I make tacos and cook ground beef for it using peppers, onions, garlic, culantro (a long flat herb similar to parsley that's commonly used in Puerto Rican cooking), taco seasoning, and a bit of tomato sauce. If there's any left over taco meat, I'll save it to make Hamburger Helper the next day and serve it with maybe canned veggies on the side or a salad. I'm low income so Hamburger Helper is great since I can find it for a $1.25 at my local dollar store. Add anything you want to it and it'll still turn out delicious.
I could take or leave hamburger helper.
I love your channel, you guys are a blast! And I'm in love with your kitties. 💜💜
Recky dancing proves this is a cooking show… ❤❤
Sending love and health to my neighbors from Sweden.
One day I too will find my Carol.. You're a lucky man Recky.❤

Another good "Not A Cooking Show"
Looked good. I like hamburger helper but haven’t had it in a long while. Haven’t made the peanut butter cookie cup but looks good. 🥰
I want to tell Recky to roll the filling pouch from the bottom while squeezing out the contents. 😮
I used to cook hamburger helper All the time for supper especially when I got off from work at night. So easy and quick to make. Lots of different flavors available. Great job you guys. Bon appetite. 29:43

If you cooked with lean ground beef, id say dont drain. Medium and up, drain the fat from meat.
You used pork and dont think you drained fat. That would kinda over power the flavour base of the HH.
Also a good tip is to brown the meat good. Crisp bits are best to add flavour.
Just always drain at least 85% the meat fat with HH.
I hope somebody sends the Tuna Helper AuGratin
Great job ❤
I never liked the boxed bran, awful… I make my own
It looked to me like the proportion of hamburger to helper was much more pasta heavy than I was used to. Essentially, the helper should support the hamburger rather than the hamburger supporting the pasta. Just a personal thing. It all depends on the amount of hamburger you use with one box of the helper. Love watching these.
Hamburger Helper is one of those boxed meals you can add virtually ANYTHING to so and enhance the overall meal!!
hamburger helper is good on it's own but it is also a good base to create a dinner. Can add more stuff to the mix. peppers and Onions, tomatoes, broccoli. any vegetables that you like. tuna helper is good too.
I'd like to hear more about Carol's days as a Welder. Cool
I have a box of Hamburger Helper in my cabinet right now, just don't have any ground meat, lol. I need to go grocery shopping. 😅 I usually add either stir fry mix (bell peppers and onions), broccoli (sometimes mixed with cauliflower) or roasted brussel sprouts (quartered) to mine. All of those usually cooked with bacon grease and garlic and then I always sprinkle some crumbles of bacon on top of it all because bacon makes everything better. 😁👍 I also usually add less milk and add a bit of mayonnaise to the mix because I'm lactose intolerant and already pushing it with the cheese packet, plus it gives a bit more flavor. You know we love our flavor here in America, lol.
Never had those peanut butter cups but until recently I was diabetic (I now lowered my A1C enough to be considered prediabetic, OMG 🙌) so it's not really a surprise that I haven't since I've been avoiding sweets. 👀. They look so good though! 😋
I add onion, mushrooms, green pepper etc. Depends on my mood.
I make hamburger helper a few ways but my favorite is to add a can of diced tomatoes, mushrooms and a bit of garlic 😊
