cant watch your sound is terrible sorry
ALWAYS listen to the original studio recording masterpiece sessions of any legendary artist of the classic progressive rock era IT MAKES NO SENSE TO NOT LISTEN TO THE EXACT REASON why it became part of peoples souls otherwise you ruin your virgin listen and you are hearing some version always different if you want to understand HEAR EXACTLY WHAT YOU WERE MEANT TO LIKE WE ALL DID NOT NOT NOT THIS this is NOT the legendary recording session masterpiece that is gold -the original is
True performers of the art of music zep !
GCarlin AND Zepp on a channel?!? New subber!
The wind instrument on the studio version is a recorder, a wooden flute… Here JohnPaul is playing an electronic version on his keyboard. The singer is RobertPlant, who is wearing a groupie's blouse, which was a pattern for him in live performances!
You should listen to the same concert's live tune, "Since I've Been Lovin' You" Britt, which IMO is even more mind blowing than this song.
The meaning of this song is nearly impossible to say with certainty. The line, "because you know, sometimes words have two meanings" applies to these lyrics.
There are pearls of truth and wisdom, but I think it's just a vividly artful story of a woman's experience in life. It could be about chasing happiness with drugs, or materialistic things… but to my knowledge, Robert Plant has never explicitly defined what this is all about.
It's just a great musical and lyrical journey 🙂
Ah back when rock gods walked the earth !
Don't try to "understand" the lyrics. Rather, "feel" the lyrics, how they dance along and show you glimpses of what they mean and what they portray. It's just better that way. (P.S. this is why there are signs at guitar stores that say "No Stairway…" (at least, in Wayne's World)) "Since I've Been Loving You" (Live) is a good "next-er" for LZ
you gotta improve massively your audio and video.
Stairway to heaven > Comfortably numb
Definitely find another live version they seem bombed in this one. I know there are more understandable videos out there and this song is too great to get a really version.
I have a few thoughts for you to consider. First is that you need to take into consideration the generation of the music – in other words, music made in the 60's was generally either anti establishment (anti government), or a kind of bubblegum feel good rock – due to the Vietnam war, the social unrest of the racial equality movements, and the women's rights movement. For instance, a song I know you have listened to, is the Sound of Silence, granted not the original version by Simon and Garfunkel, but still a valid remake of it by Disturbed, but if you take into account the 60j's when it was written and produced in 1964, the USA was dealing with all of these issues (and still is), it could be interpreted multiple ways – a cry for help, or a judgement on society that we don't listen to each other and instead value items over humanity. With Zep, a lot of their music was fantasy based, for instance, off of J.R.R. Tolkien – author of The Hobbit, and The Lord Of The Rings trilogy.
If I were you, I would take any recommendations to listen to a live version and not do that, listen to the studio version first or the official music video version first, and THEN listen to the live version. The reason? Because there are very few bands who sound spot on to their studio versions. 60's bands and artists, MUCH more likely as they didn't have auto-tune and touring was how they got new fans. Some bands that are very true between Studio and Stage from the late 60's and 70's – Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Simon and Garfunkel, Kenny Rogers, Neil Diamond, Gordon Lightfoot, – but even with them, I would recommend listening to the studio version first.
Some of my favorite songs from the 60's and 70's were bubblegum – like Leader of the Pack, or Monday Monday, or Sugar Sugar, December 1963 Oh What A Night, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, etc. But I grew to love even more the complex rhythms and lyrics of more complex bands like Zep, Rush, Fleetwood Mac, etc. Not saying that any of the 60's/70's bubblegum bands didn't have complex songs, only that is the way I was introduced to them. For instance, listen to Carrol County Accident – a simple music beat, catchy, but a great story telling song, like artists like Jim Croce, Gordon Lightfoot, Crosby Stills Nasha and Young, etc. did on a regular basis.
There's a different kind of masculinity going on there, impressive ,would you want it for yourself?Maybe, maybe not.
When they was putting the band together..they was told they would fail like lead balloon … led zeppelin.. I'm surprised no comments about the pants
Don’t worry too much about the lyrics. They don’t really mean anything LOL
Landmark song, though. Zeppelin was one of the best ever. Tons of songs worth giving a listen
Best Rock Band Ever, while I love live concerts, you owe it to yourself to listen to the studio version of one of the greatest songs ever
You simply MUST watch LZ perform ‘Whole Lotta Love’. Now that’s a spiritual experience!
The story behind their band name is that the member of another band once said that Led Zeppelin would go down like a lead balloon. A Zeppelin was once a popular form of transportation and there was a huge accident in history when the Hindenburg (a zeppelin) caught fire and went down. Jimmy Page (guitar) took that and used it as inspiration for the band name. Interestingly enough, the album cover for their second album shows the image of the Hindenburg in flames. I have heard storied of the daughter of the man who designed the Hindenburg having seen the album cover and getting upset over it. I don't know if that story album cover is true though
Just a tip you might want to use head phones to really get deep in the sound. The speakers on a laptop are just not made for real music. Keep up the good work.
A stairway to heaven can't be bought, it must be earned.
