  1. A like from recent sub! You two really need to see Bob Euchre on Carson. He had more appearances on the show than anyone in Carson's 17(?) year reign as late night king on TV. Dangerfield and Bob Eucher remind me of each other a bit. Euchre's self deprecating baseball humor is off the cuff and hysterical.

  2. He said on his last birthday, his cake looked like a prairie fire. He was noted for the line, I get no respect. Many a time, him talking to Johnny Carson was funnier than the stage act. Same thing with Don Rickles, the two of them were super talented, and very, very funny. Thanks for the great reaction.😊

  3. Never heard of Rodney Dangerfield? That's like saying you've never heard of Michael Jordan or Elvis. I'd put him in the top 5 most recognizable comedians of all time.

  4. He had the nervous habit can't sit still always adjusting his tie, great one line comedian, did few movies Caddy Shack was mentioned also Back to School was funny. Try Don Rickles he was very funny, he appeared on a show during the seventies Dean Martin celebrity roast those were great, love your reactions

  5. The joke was, "Are you kidding? I know I'm getting old. My last birthday cake looked like a prairie fire."

The inside joke between these two was that Johnny knew that Rodney, even after sitting down next to Johnny in seemingly "casual" conversation, still needed to stick to a certain sequence of jokes to keep things in order, while Johnny would occasionally tease Rodney by asking him a question in the wrong order, but knowing at the same time that no one could throw Rodney off his pattern or game plan.

  6. He said prairie fire. A prairie is a large section of mostly tall grasses I believe, someone correct me if I'm wrong, and when it catches fire it be a fast moving huge inferno.

  7. As Greg Kifer stated, comics from that day came out of vaudeville. That was comedy that lead before the strippers came on the stage. If you didn't get laughs quickly, they boo'd you off the stage becasue they wanted to see the dancers.
