  1. 10:29 even though Eren already knew would happen, he then realized that it was hopeless after all. The only moment in the episode where he smiled is when he let his guard down and enjoyed the moment with his friends under the tent. The very next scene destroys his hopes and confirms that there's no other way, which is why he disappeared and did his own thing.

Remember Levi's Squad? Petra and all? If you look back a that scene, Eren's inner dialogue is about how he should trust his friends and let them try to fix the problem. It ended in their demise. Ever since then, Eren will walk alone to protect his friends, because he's been traumatized of losing so many people.

  2. Lovely morally grey storyline..

Knowing you only have 4 years but also have the ability to save all your loved ones and ensure their survival by committing the worst atrocities the world has ever seen, but also gets rid of the titans.

Or do you let the world come and destroy everything you have ever loved, after hearing willy tyburs speech and how they are talking in congress, you know its only a matter of time before the world attacks in a very one sided war.

Or the euthanisation plan that stops your loved ones from making families and ultimately destroying your people, still using the rumbling to kill millions of people and get rid of the titans.

Which is the right choice? There is no right choice, just someone who can gain the power to end the world deciding who he wants to survive

  3. Eren : i,m doing it because they killed my mom and my people .
Eren : Dont take me seriously , I,m doing it because i,m an idiot.
i have no idea why i,m doing it .

Zeke : see Levi , you like my plan more , right ?

  4. Remember the phrase he says at the end of this episode VS the one he says after losing his mother on the boat, during the fight against Annie S1E21 (and perhaps S1E25 if I remember correctly ?)

  5. So this world is at roughly WW1 levels of tech. The scene with the battleships, and even the train in the first episode of this season, show why waiting to use the rumbling wasn't going to work. The rest of the world already has something capable of taking out a colossal titan. There was no way Paradis would have 50 years to modernize. They'd have 10-20 at best before the rest of the world came to wipe them out anyway.

  6. man wat an amazing episode.. this episode shows why Eren is doing what he is doing. To protect his loved ones against the hate from the rest of the world. I can't blame Eren for his actions, imagine you are seeking peace and their response is "im going to kill all of you" …… as the saying goes, you reap what you sow. if they want beef they will get beef simple as that. Play stupid games and win stupid prizes. Shoutout to Sashas dad for forgiving the murderer of his daughter. Also eren is literally god, if I was in that room and they denied my peace I wouldve went titan and smooshed all of them fuck out of here with that dum shit if they want to be unreasonable then we will show them unreasonable.

  7. A big take away of this show for me, is don't behave in such a way as to create an Eren. Many people would do exactly what Eren is doing, given the chance. It's up to each of us to make sure we never demonize anybody to the point where you turn them into Eren Jaeger. Eren Jaeger is inevitable if you push people far enough. Don't make that the only outcome.

  9. Eren want them to be alive and happy by killing the rest of the world yes, this is war, there is no heroes or justice just the ones that survived and the ones that died.

And there is no peace, there is only peace when a war just ended and is a momentary peace until the next war begins.

Humanity around the world has freedom enough to make a rebellion against their leaders that want them to die in their useless wars, but no, they are ok with that because is easier to go to the other side of the world to kill people and your own government provide you everything necessary to do it.

Instead humanity throw everything that is wrong on this world they throw it at the "island devils" i this episode you clearly see how doomed the island is, they literally said "hate the eldians on the island, they are the true devils" and everyone applause that, in episode 5 the most influential and powerful people around the world literally reunited together and declared world war against the island.

Another thing is that Marley attacked first the island to stole the founder, they wanted the founder to access to the rumbling themselves, and they wanted the rumbling because that assured them to keep the same influence as a world top nation, technology advanced enough for humanity to kill titans easily and even kill the armored titan wich is supposed to be the most defensive one you see this in the first episodes of season 4, Marley was at war for 4 long years with another nation.

So Marley is running out of time, the world technology advance very quickly so they sent Reiner and the others to steal the founder and securing the rumbling for themselves.

When Marley can't steal the founder because Eren has it, then Marley reunited the entire world to declare world war against the island, if they win they will keep being a top nation, the leader that saved the world from the rumbling.

But Willy is an stupid man, he thought he would only sacrifice eldians civillians and some influential people like him but he never thought they will lose everything, Eren stole the Warhammer, Armin destroyed completely the navi, Zeke treason and him being royal and Eren brother was something he would never thought of.

Willy is the type of man that sent you to war to die for nothing, this are the type of leaders we as humans always choose to rule over us, there is a few wars in the name of freedom but most wars are just for greed and power.

What Eren is doing is damn awful and horrible and unforgivable but this is war, his war is for freedom instead of Willy and the rest of the world their war is for greed and ambition, both are wrong both are the same horrible acts, but Eren waited until the rest of the world declared world war against them, he waited till the last moment, Eren only had 4 years of living remaining and the world couldn't wait even just 1 year to declare world war against them.

Without the rumbling he can't assure any of his friends to be alive, a world war against them probably would last dozens of years , the new babies being born will born into war to grow up and be soldiers and sent them to die when they're still kids, so many things can happen to the island in the next years so Eren decided to avoid any of those thousands of scenerarios, he choose to just bury humanity war and hatred against eldians with humanity itself.

Lol All this text to just said genocide is genocide, this is war and neither humanity or Eren has right, they're both wrong but there is no doing right in war, in war only exists the ones alives and the death ones.

  10. 4:11 Except Levi. 🍭
The Ackermann thing is left a little ambiguous, but I think it is pretty much bullshit. Mikasa's devotion for Eren didn't happen with her powers awakening when she killed that gangster, but when Eren put his scarf on her and gave her a home. I think she just loves him so much and decided that she wants to be with him and protect him from that moment on.
Because while the Ackermanns were protectors of the royal family at some point, they were also the ones who ended up rebelling against them. And while for example Kenny ended up having a similar relationship with Uri again, he did not share the same sympathies with Rod and was more than willing to throw him under the bus. He pretty much only worked for him because he wanted to take the founder and the kings memories, because he was under the impression that he would end up seeing the world through the eyes of empathy and compassion, which he could not grasp or understand – right until he learned that he would need royal blood to be affected by the king's will. Another example is Levi, who you'd think was attached to Erwin as his "host", but in the end it was Levi who commanded Erwin to throw away his life and forgo his dream of finding out the truth and the basement, to give everyone else a chance to survive this and find out themselves.
I think with their powers they just tend to become very strong fighters, and with that come into such positions as protectors naturally, given the right social circumstances.

  11. He said it himself: "This all happened by my will."
People who try to justify him say "he didn't have a choice". Yes, he did. His intentions are good, but at some point in time he MADE the choice of setting the rumbling in motion.
Mikasa wouldn't have changed anything if she had said something different.

  12. This is the last of the normal 22 minute length episodes. I am so excited and sad to see your reactions of this show come to an end. The final two special episodes are devastating, I cannot wait to see you see the end come.

  13. This is the episode that changed my view on Floch, you can tell he was shocked when Eren proposed this idea and likely against it.. But knowing that Eren can see into the future I can how he was swayed and convinced to aid him.. When he first said that Eren told him everything, I thought he was talking shit, but Eren trusted him completely.. Like sure he's a bit of a jerk, but he's competent and brave. I can understand how people can hate him, but his character arc from a coward crying in the ground to a brave leader fighting on the front lines is pretty damn amazing.

  14. When you say “by killing the whole world?😮” then it shows you haven’t paid attention. Isayama literally wrote this story as the entire world vs Paradis. Season 4 episode 5 shows Willy Tybur combines ALL NATIONS with a rallying speech and declares war against Paradis and the goal is to completely destroy Paradis. They were literally going to kill Eren and all his people and Eren had no choice but to stop them and the only literal possible option was to do the rumbling. That was literally the point of this story. He asked Hange so many times what other choice was there and she gave no answer cuz there was none. It was kill or be killed
