First Shoot with Nikon Z7 II | Landscape Photography

I travel to the North West of Scotland with my camper van, a Nikon Z7 II, 24-120mm lens and a 100-400mm lens. This was my first landscape photography shoot with the Nikon Z7 II and I got some lovely conditions, but how did the camera handle the high contrast shooting situation? 1. I've had my Z7II for about a year now it's an fantastic piece of kit, I made the huge upgrade from my much loved D7000 after months of dithering about whether I wanted to go mirrorless or not and I have to say I'm so glad I did.

  2. Beautiful photos, love the Assynt light, on a par with the Orkney Islands. Heading to Sandwood, Culkein and Achiltibue in a couple of weeks 🌞⛺️📷⛰🤞

  3. Heaton, so sorry I have not posted sooner, but have been doing some interesting, unlike your videos. Glad to see we have camping with Pompous Heaton back again and what an improvement the mosquito hat made, improved the image no end, hope you will be wearing it at the BBQ. what a shame that the cleaned up image from the last vid has gone by the wayside and we are back to soap dodging Heaton. Carry on the boring work you could only get better. Glad we have no illegal camping, but likewise no apology for the illegal acts in previous videos.

  4. Isn't that pure bliss to be a part of such a beautiful evening and just slow down, be aware of the moment? Enjoying your video's as always and your inspiring photographs.

  5. That sharing at 1:20… sounds exactly like my day trip to Mount Fuji – sunny skies (weather forecast was great), beautiful weather 3 hrs in on my train ride and the very last bit it rained and Fuji-san was covered entirely.

I couldn’t stay a night due to schedule.

I checked IG, the day before and the day after my day of visit; beautiful weather and it stayed that way for the rest of the week, just not the day I visited. Well, it at least serve as a great backstory to get me to revisit and stay for a few nights.

  6. Fantastic Tom 👌 a bit late watching as I was up in Erm Assynt this week (actually had the wee man up Stac Pollaidh on Thursday – sorry to say – but it was glorious sunshine ) . Great video and catch up soon

  7. Narcistic needs ? Ha, no way, a narcist doesn't know he is one. You always make a joke on yourself. That's why your channel is so entertaining and inspiring at the same time. Greez from Germany.

  8. I saw the bay with the boats, and you commented on the lay-by so I thought "That's the spot". Then you got so excited I thought for sure there was a chippie or a pub right there so you wouldn't have to cook.

  9. I'm a planner by nature where photography is concerned but when the plan doesn't work out the spontaneous shots always mean more. Probably 1 in 100 times it will turn into that type of sunset but you will never know unless you try. Great shots Tom.

  10. You’ve just described what I absolutely love….driving into the unknown and spotting compositions, stopping, chasing the light, the sunrise and sunset, always on the move, each image unique. Freedom to go where you please. Have fun!
