It's nice to see you going into the psychological process behind it. Basically, ego plays a major role here. What I mean by ego is a sense of identity we have, the idea about ourselves, about who we are. We do whatever we can to keep that idea alive, but most of all we try to improve it and enhance it. That is why we create Instagram profiles where we present the best possible version of ourselves, it enhances the idea we have about ourselves. We compare that idea with other people and we feel better or worse about ourselves. Games are no different, especially MMORPGs, where the customization and creativity aspects are so strong. We identify with the character in the game and so it becomes a part of our identity. That's why deletion of our character often feels so devastating to us, it's like we are losing a part of ourselves. But on the other hand, it feels amazingly good when we improve that character, we invest thousands of hours just to be better than everyone else, to look unique and different from everyone else. And you can imagine how achievements and collections help with that.
The bigger the youtuber, the less effort they put on their videos…

I like the game but the goldsellers make me angry. It's not so difficult to filter keywords out, even if they try to circumvent. At least have someone Blacklist the whole message once per day.
i just started yesterday and im having a blast. i knew from the priest guy in the beginning was so corny but the beauty of the world the combat and just the fact there is so much to do has me hooked. it wont be for everyone thats for sure but im definitely having a good time with it.
I'm amazed how smoothly he can talk for 20 min straight. I am as boring as a cardboard and tend to speak out everything i have on my mind in less than 1 minute which is followed by awkward silence 😀
pay to win is when you can buy somthing in the game that makes you more powerful than other players and its only obtainable buy paying irl money.
love this game even at times i get overwhelmed by all the different things, everyday i learn something new and i hope to be playing it for quite some time, i've always wanted a game where you get your very own ship and go explore different islands that's the part of the game that attracted me to it in the first place and i'm glad that i discovered it because of you so thank you for that.

It's pay to win vs npcs does that really matter though? If the competitive player vs player is balanced than who cares if someone spends 1000$ just to kill bosses quicker he'll still get dunked by me with 0$ spent in pvp so
my biggest issue with Lost ark is the aweful control scheme and the fact that you cant rebind a good amount of it.
pay to win is only a problem for me if open world pvp in involved, Also loving the little shack

This game is so fun – I don’t have words. Deathblade and Artillerist are insanely fun to play. So many options. 100 times better than Diablo as an MMORPG. And when Peking I get option to do hard and get better gear if successful. I am low level and having so much fun. A polished game on release cause already out for many years in Korea. I don’t like Korean games until now.
If you p2w in lost ark you’re a fool. I think the game isnt supposed to be played the way we’re used to. You arn’t supposed to blitz 100% completion because there are too many things to do without burning yourself out—and there are actual time gates on top of that.
You’re supposed to progress in a linear fashion, hitting content you enjoy, and preferably experiencing content on the ilvl curve. If you cheese that you don’t get to experience a ton of content when its actually challenging, and all you have left is the tip of endgame to experience. You’re paying to have less challenging encounters to enjoy, in essence.
I like the game but I think a lot of NA people who try the game will discover its not for them. I think for the type of game it’s trying to be, it does a good job (arpg mmo).
Unfortunately a lot of NA people will burn themselves out on all the systems that are intended to be enjoyed AT YOUR OWN PACE. People approach this game with the minmax culture and think they need to 100% everything and make every perfect choice. Not the case.
Everything you do builds your character. Take it easy. Its a different form of progression than we’re used to. You don’t need to 100% everything and take advantage of every currency/rapport/system/daily/weekly. Seriously. I think it is so overloaded so that players are forced to realize they can’t just complete the game in a week. You can log in a year or two from now and have something to progress towards.
LOL not even close to pay-to-win,,, Why does no one know what P2W even means in this new generation. Pay to win is gaining an advantage in PvP modes due to buying something with money that a free player can't ever have. PvP in this game balance all players to a common ground; your gear plays no role in success! Man, next thing you know being able to dye your character is pay to win…ROFL man new generation is so stupid…
Never been into MMO's but as recently I began playing New World then Lost Ark dropped and played it and enjoyed both very much 🙂
