  2. Vanguard is a very fun game once you get into it. I actually prefer playing it than Yugioh because it has a very linear design.

Last time I played I used a pale moon deck which specializes in attacking more than 3 times by summoning units from the soul.

    Some tips if you want:

-be careful of attacking the opponent too much and getting them damage because some cards become very op when they're at 4-5 damage.

-be conservative with calls on early turns because it means you won't have much to guard with later on.

-when you're at 4 damage and a vanguard attacks you always guard or you risk getting fucked by crit trigger.

  3. Some tips about guarding.
If your opponent vanguard attack your vanguard. You have to consider the chance of them getting trigger.
For example they attack with 13k power
    – If you guard with 5k-10k shield (18k-23k defensive power), the attack can hit if they check 1 trigger bc their vanguard power will go up to 23k. (1 to pass)
    – If you guard with 15k-20k shield (28k-33k defensive power), the attack can hit if they check 2 triggers "and" they put power to their vanguard. (2 to pass)
    – If you guard with 25 or more shield, it will be "no pass", or "Over to pass"

  4. Yeah overtrigger feels bad. Made it to top 8 in regional tournament after playing for 6 hours that day and got knocked out by the opponent checking overtrigger and I didn't have a perfect guard to block the attack. XD no one in competitive vanguard likes the mechanic.

  5. Why are numbers big in JP card games? It goes back to the numbers used regularly in that culture/society. In America and Europe, the base number for basic transactions is in the 1's and 10's whereas in Japan basic transactions are done in the 100's and 1000's. Currency is usually a good indicator to why numbers in games are different between cultures.
