First Full-Day Drive with Hilux: Tackling Watagans’ Technical 4WD Tracks

Hey everyone! 🚙🔧 This is a bit older video October 2023 but given the DCS saga I have not been away much but thought I post this drive.

Today’s video marks the first time I took my Hilux out for a full day’s drive, and we headed to the stunning Watagans! I’m thrilled to be joined by Brent and Craig in their Jeeps as we tackle some of the more technical 4WD tracks this area has to offer.

Here’s what you’ll see in this adventure:

🔹 Whitemans Lane – We kick things off with the big step at the beginning, always a thrilling challenge, especially early in the morning when the track is still a bit moist. Spoiler alert: the winch had to come out for two of the three cars. Stick around to see who needs the extra help!

🔹 Alfred Track and Cut Rock – More technical driving and breathtaking scenery as we navigate these iconic tracks.

This video is packed with action, technical driving tips, and the camaraderie that makes off-roading so special. Whether you’re a 4WD veteran or new to the scene, you’re going to love this!

Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more off-road adventures and tips. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions or if there’s something specific you’d like to see in future videos.

Happy driving and stay safe out there! 🌄🚙💨

  1. Noticed from YouTube you have loads of support from other YouTubers. As I believe you mentioned, instead of just letting the dust settle and taking a small hit in sale's they've chosen to highlight their problems and make their situation much worse. Good luck mate. Great channel !

  2. I'm curious what kind of gearing you have in the Hilux? It seems to me like it would benefit from reduction gears (or having the diffs re-geared), it just feels like it is a little too high based on this video.

It also seems like your Hilux has the perfect wheelbase to be constantly climbing two obstacles at once 🤣 That's probably just the Watagans, though, I'm sure there have been plenty of Hiluxes through getting stuck and digging out obstacles.

  3. I don't know if you have seen the latest Louis Rossmann video about this but it explains how the AUS Gov did a study about these batteries and found that DCS was off the charts the worse of all of them. Pls check out his latest video

  4. Good to see you just " Getting on with it " Stefan . Nice bit of Rock Crawling . Quite challenging .
Apparently an Independent Government Lab has tested a Grouping of Batteries , some time back , that included the DCS product .
    It performed Poorly comparatively .

  5. Great channel, I got turned on to your channel by Auto Expert John C. I live in the US and have been bouncing around the deserts, mountains sand dunes ect since 1966. If I count my father who bought a 1943 MB Jeep in 1960 even longer. I had a shop for about 30 years that was 90% 4×4 work and probably 90% of that work was Jeep. The couple of your vids I’ve watched I really enjoyed and will forward them to friends who have the same interests. Based on the few channels I watch I’m surprised (not really I guess) you tube didn’t pop your channel up long ago as a recommendation.
