FIRST DRIVE: 2025 Citroen e-C4 Review – Could it be any comfier? | Electrifying

The 2025 Citroen e-C4 takes comfort to a new level, blending stylish updates, innovative tech, and improved efficiency. With prices estimated from £30,000, this refreshed electric hatchback keeps its reputation as a budget-friendly family EV while adding more to the table.

Notable updates include a cleaner, blockier front design inspired by the Oli concept, new aerodynamic alloy wheels, and fresh color options like Maneton Green. Tech upgrades include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, customizable widgets, and 3D navigation graphics.

Available with two battery options – the standard 46kWh or upgraded 51kWh pack – the e-C4 offers a WLTP range of up to 261 miles. Still prioritizing comfort, the e-C4 delivers a softer ride compared to rivals like the VW ID.3 or Cupra Born, while maintaining practicality with 380L boot space and generous rear legroom despite its coupe-inspired design.

  1. I have the ë-C4 for 3 years now. Reliable, easy to use, efficient (yes, even the old version). A great car for everyday use. The only thing I'm missing is real one pedal driving.
If I had to buy a new car today, the ë-C4 would be again one of my top picks.
But if you are looking for a sporty car, look elsewhere!

  2. Love my e-c4 but the dealer says it can’t tow which I know but can I fit a towbar for a bike carrier and would my insure be legal.
That’s the only issue with the car for me ticks every other box

  3. Hi . I have the older version and I think the head up display is a must.. It puts up the cruise control setting up there which is very handy and I don't need to look down very often at all. the missing rear wiper is more of a thing, I would use it if there was 1 , but not had a problem . Loads of room in the back, the hand hold on the roof are too easy to bump your head on, as you get in. The rear camera get very dirty ,very quickly, so wipe it when you plug it in. Then enjoy just wafting along. this thing just rolls along with minimal effort so the bigger battery will be helpful as you just don't need to stop. Hope this helps after leaving with it for 6 months.

  4. First time i see this channel and i won't watch it again, and i will check the eC4 review somewhere else , thanks YTube for having the thumbnail preview on the timestamp that saved me from wasting time watching this useless video which doesn't present the dashboard and everything and from the 1st minutes you can clearly see this is a fake review like made by Citroen themselves only good nothing bad just the piano black ? pls… shut up LOL

  5. We love our e-C4, and I’m always looking at the Head Up Display instead of the instrument cluster. Much easier on my eyes as I’m not refocusing as much all the time – it’s just there. All cars should have one.

  6. I'm 1 year, nigh on 8000 miles deep on a 23MY one registered in 2024. It's been absolutely faultless – range dips in winter obviously but not obtrusively. Winter range is better than my parent's Mokka-e by some significant margin. No rattles, proving better built than my previous Mazda CX-30 that rattled like a garden shed. Enough performance for any moment you might want of it. All the safety systems are there but aren't too annoying, probably one of the least intrusive set ups I've driven with.

It's fairly basic as EVs go but I bought mine for around £24.5k – a car that should list at nearly £35k. It was genuinely cheaper than leasing on a no deposit, interest free PCP at the time so I treat it like a glorified lease. It's just a nice place to be.

  7. Nic when you say USB port you really should say USB-A as there is no port just called USB otherwise USB-C is just a USB port so the car does have USB ports of type A & C, sorry being pedantic I know but I love your reviews as always just that one small thing that drives me mad. 😃

  8. Hi Nicola…thanks for this driving report. As a current model eC4 driver for nearly a year, while generally very happy with it (40+ years of bum bliss with their unequalled oleo-pneumatic suspension), the major drawback I experience is it's cold range collapse (ambient around 0 degrees). Normally I get 150 to 170miles but at low temps I am lucky to get 100.
I was looking to this version as a possible solution, but I reckon moving up 5kWh on the battery at considerable expense given it is only available in top Max trim the heat pump is an extra £450 across the range AND the used EV market is in free fall, the move would be akin to moving my deckchair about 1.5m towards the stern of the Titanic!
What this car needs is a Bigger battery…..and Stillantis Inc. already have a 73kWh one available from the new 3008 Peugeot. Obviously the chief bean counter (now exited , stage left) decided to fatally compromise the facelift for a bit of superficial styling.
I'm off to extend my current warranty and take the free pensioners trains on long journeys until the weather warms up a bit!!!

  9. Literally all modern phones can work with a USB-B to USB-C cable. It's not the end of the world. But, as a long time fan of Citroen with some superb childhood memories of the CX, I really don't like their refreshed logo and the way it sits on the nose of their cars.

  10. The comfort is a really key point with the C4. I was following a Skoda yesterday on a country road, he was swerving all over the place doing 30mph trying to avoid all the potholes. I sailed past at 60 in my e-C4 …. potholes, whatholes?
