My question is: After spending all the various time, effort and funding in the wonderment of going to Mars. Is the process that caused Mars to become uninhabitable, still in process, or has it stopped. Tis my guess, it's the later.

honestly ,judging by the visuals of the travle in that movie , i be lees concerned about the whole 'oh gaia as seeded by mars'' and more of the ''hmm… wait a moment , they hade THAT developed travle back then and such tech to seed planets and ..wanting.. to do so ? yet… appeared not to have done so outside of the native system and when being forced to emigrate doing so to a entirely new GALAXY! ..rather then any system in the local galaxy ..something is fishy here
