Finishing the retention pond. Finally got the pond all graded out and spread the seed and straw on it. Now it just needs to rain. I also got the new ditch cut and graded where the pond should actually drain now. I took the dirt from the ditch and spread on the back side of the berm and graded it with the dozer to get rid of a low spot and blend things in better. Then I put 200lbs. of fescue and rye seed then blew 70 bales of straw over the whole area. It is quite the change from what it started out. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #RetentionPond

Dammit!!! Caught me off guard again 🤷♂️😂
Thanks Brandon another great video take care of yourself and family ❤️❤️👍 it.
another job well done by elite!!!
Another awesome job well done brother!52
Great looking job again. Talk with Clint at C&C equipment he deals with the dozer's, he's a fellow youtuber .
I don't know what to tell you about how the work load is going to go. My investment guy says he thinks the stock market will get better after the mid-term elections but, the stock market is not the overall economy. I was looking to get a newer excavator myself but, I think I'm going to wait at least until I get my skidsteer paid for. I can weather one payment if the building market tanks, but not 2 payments. That job turned out great. Nice job brother.
looks great . How's the new shop coming along ?
Extreme Drainage Makeover… that could be a Network TV show! The b4 and the b-after views are remarkable.
The dozer really dressed the ditch Sid up nicely. Getting the blade to taper in the ends takes some skill. Looked like you are getting a handle on it!
We got .2” of rain. I’m not complaining… just envious of those who got five times as much. I swear… there’s an umbrella over Sassafras Valley!
Great Job 👍🏻
I think some of your straw blew all the way over here to East Tennessee 😳😁. Wow! That looks great 👍…
I'll bet one of those Mrs. Elite stickers on the window would help a lot with the ownership issue. lol. Keep smilin and Nice job.
Great job young man 👍🏻🇺🇸
Never know how busy it will be.
the straw lays down like icing on a cake👍👍 sucks when you fall in love with equipment that is not in cards for now…☹
Love this job Brandon you done a very good job .
Looking good, Brandon!
Well it’s no longer a big mess! Well done as usual!
@Elite Earthworks LLC
hey brandon, i suggest you give the Case Minotaur DL550 a veiw and test, its basically a skidsteer with a quick connect mounting connection that gives you a dozer like brace/ reinforcement.
then if you need to move or load dirt you can uncouple and put a bucket on. check out the reviews here on YT, quite interesting equipment its not just a skidsteer with a dozer attachment.
That is a nice size dozer for sure and if you knew you were going to be busy through out the year into next season it would be a no brained, but you never know. At least you can rent the dozer and make it pay out for itself for now, give it some time, you will win in the end. The Rocks-R-Us project came out looking great sir, thanks for the ride along.
Very well done. My vote is for you to keep the dozer but I'm not the the one responsible for the payment. 🤣 Glad to here that you've got more work with that same company. May turn out to be a good commercial account. Your work on this retention pond should resolve drainage issues for fed ex for a long while.
Looks fantastic!
That was a spectacular job and the drone shots really showed that – it almost looked like a totally different property! We knew you'd get to liking that dozer and I can really see how it would greatly expand your capabilities much like what the smart purchase the roller turned out to be. I'll say two things: first, don't minimize your worth – a lot of the business you're getting is because of your work ethic and the quality of your work. Secondly, as you say, winter is coming, so I'm sure some things will slow down a little, but I think you'll still be in high demand as the season resumes next year. Having said that, I think the economy is going to be taking a more negative turn — certainly by next year — and there will be a reduction in new projects. You know how much growth there is in your area and if anyone can weather it, you can, but I see hard times ahead. The equipment won't get any cheaper either, of course, that's for sure.
Looks great brother
Looks great !!
An old job foreman told me someone can give you a free, new, Bulldozer , and in a year you will have a $20,000 loan against it trying to keep it running. But you also need a dozier if you are going to do dirt work. Looking good.👍👍
Great looking job. Sounds like a good idea to rent at first and own later. Some think the recession will start next mid year 2023.
Very, very impressive Brandon! The ditch turned out absolutely beautiful and the drone shots were great too! I wish I had the wisdom to advise you on the bulldozer but I don't. I am really impressed as to what you can do with it though! Thank you for sharing with us!
That came together really well Brandon.
With the Dozer, is leasing an option? Here in Canada, if you lease a piece of machinery like that you can claim 100% of the payment including principal, interest and state taxes (if applicable, for example in Alberta there’s no GST, but in Canada GST is across the country. We claim that back as an offset against GST we charge clients. If there is a provincial tax, like in BC, then that gets expensed as well). It might be a worthwhile trip to your accountant to see if it can help the books? It overrides the Capital Cost Allowance (CCA) or depreciation of the asset and benefits the books right away. When you buy the lease out, then that value is what you depreciate.
I’m no accountant so I would hate to lead you astray, so ask those in the know in your country to see how it applies. We leased a lot of our very high dollar equipment before I retired, for about 8 years, and it was beneficial for our books overall and we had new equipment all the time. We had a 2 year rotation as a contract with John Deere, so that was even more convoluted. My wife understands it. When it became a matter of spending $300,000 for a tractor, over $100k fir an air seeder and so on,,, I just didn’t want all my cash tied up!! 😂😂 it was MY (OUR) money!!! 😢😢.
On a lighter note I grossed my wife out today!! She caught my shoulder with a hook when casting. We were fishing for muskellunge at the time so it was a big heavy lure. It caught me, RIPPED a hole in my skin and then the barb got stuck in the muscle. I tied a towel around my arm so I didn’t get too much blood in the guide’s boat. He knew what to do, but the tear in the skin was too much for him!😂😂. I pushed the hook through, grabbed his wire cutters (at least he had that) cut the barb off and backed the hook out!! Then I used butterfly tape like sutures to hold the wound together!! I put gauze on that, then my wife could tape it up as the blood had been cleaned up by me at that point. I grabbed another t-shirt out of the bag and threw my hoodie back on and went back to fishing!! That lasted about 1/2 hour when the guide got sick over the edge of the boat!😂 he was actually in shock!! We quit fishing to take him in to emergency!!! I have my EMR/EMT training so he was comfy and resting with his feet up and his head on my wife’s lap. (He later said he wanted to trade wives!!😂). At emergency he made me let them look at my shoulder. They were impressed with the repair, but recommended stitches, if I was going to try to keep on fishing. It’s my right shoulder and by then was getting sore, so I agreed. We got back about an hour ago and I’m wiped out!! Haha. Fun day for me, my wife is over it but she usually sees me AFTER I fix a wound, not while watching me fix the wound,,,,,. I was surprised she didn’t go into shock herself,,,,,. She did really well! She would hold one side of the butterfly tape while looking the other way and I would stretch it to hold the wound closed. It worked well sorta! That was life Ranching. Get hurt like that, you didn’t have time to stop. Keep it clean, fix it and make sure your tetanus shot is up to date!!😂 Really!
Now I’m going to sleep. We have tomorrow for free with the guide as today was only 1/2 day really. Even the wound was fun for me, it’s a challenge! Not so much for HIM!! I’m pretty sure I’m going fishing. Once you catch a few muskellunge right as you are lifting the hook out of the water even,,,,,, it’s hard to give up the chance to go again!!
I like the work you did here and it really did blend together here in the end. That ditch will actually flow better and with much more capacity with the flat bottom. They used to do that with irrigation ditches here before installing so much pipeline. From the smaller ditches right up to the main canals! 4 foot bottoms to over 12 ft bottoms with about 45 degree slopes. They mowed then with mower decks that could match the terrain. They don’t have to be so deep then. In your case it would keep a high volume with very little slope.
Catch ya later good sir!!
Fukme runnin!!292nd!!
Another great job. A dozer would be real nice to have, but maybe alot cheaper one until you know you got the work.
Brandon that dozer done ✔️ it for you it looks amazing now from what it looked like 👍 👌
Nice job bud!!! I'm with ya on the work load for the future
Damn Sin!…you look like Let’s Dig grading with that dozer…lol….great job..you take pride in your work👍
Outstanding job per normal & y'all are right it is mighty hard to say how busy it will get or stay it is always hard to justify the investment into new equipment
One nice and tidy job Brandon 👍👍
Build a pad with a dozer equipped with grade control and you’ll really want one
Awesome job Brandon. Looks amazing.
👍👍👍
