Finding joy even when things don't go as planned (story 47)

Hello, friends! I so hope that youโ€™re well. Autumn will soon be here and Iโ€™ll be making a new bucket list for all the fun things I hope to do this season. But that made me realize how many things I DID NOT get done from my summer bucket list. Most of the list, actually! And while that initially made me sad, I then remembered so many little things in life that make me so very grateful.

Tell me โ€ฆ what are you feeling grateful for today?

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friends!

  1. Pleased to see you treasure the beauty around you. โ€œMy creation declares My Glory!โ€ Saith the Lord. Living in rural Wisconsin, I too delight in the wild life, flowers, blueberries, raspberries, apples, rhubarb and so much more. All a blessing to my soul. Really enjoy your content. Krystyna

  2. You accomplished a marathon: months without refined sugar!!! I envy you (just a bit). Although I found out that my aching knees start getting worse after too much cake etc, I still go back to that white addictive poison too oftenโ€ฆ but itโ€™s getting better. Thanks and cheers from Ireland ( with a late late summer, finally, after months of dull and damp weather)

  3. I am 61 & a whole lot in my life did NOT go as planned! ๐Ÿ˜„ So I can sit here feeling sorry for myself & mourn what I didnยดt have or didnยดt achieve – or I can enjoy the moment !For example in watching your sweet, sunny personality in one of your videos!

  4. SWeet vlog! Liquid iron from the health store works very well and is usually very well tolerated. Can you put your little washer in the small area to the right of your patio doors coming in from outside?? Might work for you there!

  5. It's always such a treat to see a video from you!! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜€. That Sunset was GORGEOUS!! A PERFECT way to end your day!! Charlie is so cute with his tricks ๐Ÿ˜‚. It was such a treat to see the leaves falling! They are slowly changing in Our area. This morning, I woke up and there was that Crisp morning that I LOVE SO much!! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜€ Do you decorate your Cottage for Fall? ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚

  6. Cozy video. Charlie is adorable. Love the way you trained him for his treats.๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŒบ. I also deal with anemia. I donโ€™t do well with my iron tablets..they donโ€™t agree with me. I will check out a liquid iron.
    Thanks for sharing. ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹

  7. I've spent so many years feeling like I'm missing out because of social media but funny enough, I had the best summer in years this year because your videos inspired me to move at a slower pace/appreciate the little moments. I didn't do a single thing worth posting to instagram but I found so much beauty so thank you for sharing your lifestyle.
Also, adore your floral paintings! Would you ever consider commissioning a piece? ๐Ÿ’ž

  8. Thank you so much Kate for sharing the beauty you see in nature! I find it refreshing and uplifting!
I too deal with anemia. I'm glad this new liquid supplement is working for you!!! The pill I take to keep my stomach at a low acid level for my Acid Reflux keeps it also too low for me to absorb iron. I have had one iron infusion. I'm wondering if I'm getting close to needing another one.
    3 suggestions:
๐Ÿ”ธMaybe include some simple joys on your Adventure List for Autumn/Fall. Like watching the sunsets. ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ๐Ÿฟ๏ธ๐Ÿฆ”๐ŸŒพ๐ŸŒป๐Ÿ„๐Ÿฆ‰๐Ÿฐ
๐Ÿ”ธKeep a Journal for documenting the small & large accomplishments you achieve each day/week. Then when you look back at a Season you will have evidence of your amazing and numerous accomplishments like facing your fears of Ticks & Limes Disease and โ€” moving forward โ€” rather than being overwhelmed and standing still being "paralyzed and depressed" โœ…๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ†๐ŸŽ†๐ŸŽ‡
๐Ÿ”ธYou mentioned struggling when scrolling through Instagram. Maybe try scrolling through Pinterest with the videos turned off.
I have collected a ton of beautiful imagery, encouraging memes and cartoons and more on Pinterest.
I use that for encouragement. I also have some of those images & memes on my phone. I use a couple widget apps that display images on one or more of my phones home screens.
I kept my favorite images in a file called 4BHappy, now I have 4 files – 1 for each season. I do the same with encouraging memes, quotes & bible verses.
Then I have 2 widgets on one phone home screen that display images. One links up to the current seasons Happy imagery & one links up to the current seasons Happy memes n more imagery, all in my photos on the phone on my memory card.

  12. Love the music on this one!!! I always think when I watch your videos that you are living the life of a studio Ghibli heroine and I have faith Iโ€™ll get there someday, lol๐Ÿ˜„ Are you going to try to sell some of your flower paintings?? They are beautiful!!

  13. If there is a farmers market or a fall festival where you can rent a space, why not set up a table. You can draw folks in with your beautiful paintings and also have an album of your photography work with business cards. Once you start talking you can tell them about your photography and honestly you should try selling the paintings. They are beautiful.

  14. I love your videos, Charlie is adorable! My little Beagle loves to watch him! For clients for family photography maybe there are local parenting groups that you could notify, possibly the local library would let you advertise there?
