48:42 "I'll beat this entire ass' room" really fuckin got me xD
Genuinely tempted to get this game from the character creator alone, because when I tell you I got SO exited seeing all the black hairstyles available 👀 I mean most games with character creators give you like 2-4 options for afrocentric hairstyles and the stream didn't spend a whole lotta time looking through the hair options but I definitely saw way more black rep than I usually do in games like this. Big fan.
I feel vindicated that someone else hates Jinx too!!!
me, not having watched the Beastiballs vods yet piecing together the news 1.5hrs into this vod has me absolutely pogged holy shit congrats you guys!!
Drawfee plays dragon age???!! MY WORLDS ARE COLLIDING!!
"Wow, you can tell where we are from just looking at a single tree?"
"Yes! And also… There's a massive city in front of us that gives me another clue."
Ok but my GAWD the HAIR???? That looks gorgeous what the hell???
THEYRE HAVING A BABY!? AND THIS IS HOW I FIND OUT???
can relate 😅 i hardly finish any games… Thats why i love short games. because I can finally finish them.
I just tied with tea with cocoa drink powder and a bit of milk. It was delightful 😋
The short elf is what elves were before tolkien and after bc they stuck around a bit. And hobbits are similar to creatures that could be called elves in a casual way. I feel like elves in folklore and fiction have basically 6 types:
1. diminutive elves, either like a Tolkien elf but short, or like a dwarf, or like a hairy wild creature – a christmas elf for example
2. A race of often pretty average people, but living in another plane of existence or in a hidden world but of human size and able to pass as human – very similar to the idea of the fae – a word originally for a generic magical race dwelling in a magical land, used in early fantasy stories, and derived from a word meaning "fateful" (from latin fata) that came to mean "strange, uncanny, magical" and by extension a magic land ("faerie") and its magic people ("the fae" or the "faeries")
3. Spiritual entities, connected to the earlier 2, sometimes small, sometimes hidden bc they are spirits that are invisible. often bc they are a synonym for the minor daemons that cause disease in late classical and early medieval thought, or the generic concept of a faery characterized by the original French fae, or the fair folk/sidhe of celtic folklore, or bc this is what the original elf meant in anglo saxon/ west germanic tradition, which might vary from norse/ north germanic tradition – in modern low fantasy, as opposed to high or epic fantasy, they are often diminutive people but without wings, bc that would make then like a flower fairie – synonymous with a sprite or an imp
4. A creature like a satyr or otherwise like a nature spirit – often horns or nature-inspired skin tone (green, blue, red) – this is the main type to exist outside of tolkien in modern high fantasy
5. Tolkien's elves which are based on norse myth but are very much his own imterpretation – diminutive elves aren't solely a thing in the victorian age, they go back pretty far – at any rate, most elves before tolkien were magical or spiritual beings but his are in many ways a physical race and most before him are human sized or smaller and not taller, unless conflated with giants – his are in many ways like the beautiful fair and immortal fae people of later folklore, which could often also be called elves
6. Post tolkien elves that borrow from him heavily but add extra traits or make them more metaphysical or less metaphysical or change skin tone, add horns, etc, but still a physical fantasy race that is immortal and fair and taller than a human
I assume the larynx settings are to give your character an adams apple? That's pretty cool!
So satisfying when you watch a streamer ask chat a question in a vod (what does our character look like?) which you have an answer to (Famke Janssen as Jean Grey) but you can't tell them cause it's a vod… But then it turns out chat was on your wavelength and told them for you. ♥️♥️♥️
30:08 “When the weather outside is frightening, and the fire is soda lightning.” Jacob Drawfee – 2024
I was up getting a snack when Jacob said "Fade touched War Axe" and definitely heard "Fade Touched Lorax". Just thought I'd share that image.
Hey y’all I didn’t know this until I googled it but according to Cleveland Clinic and scientific American, dads can get postpartum depression. I don’t really understand but the experts say it’s true ¯_(ツ)_/¯ the more ya know
❤❤❤❤❤
Oh my god, you made Arcane's Sevica!💛
With the way folks were being so down on the game before you even started, I'm glad I disconnected from everything social. I haven't had anything but fun with the game. Dang folks, chill.
3:11:16 Yes, Julia! I immediately started singing "A Little Respect"
jacob: jump attack big smack
me: green moose guava juice
Dragon Age Inquisition was the first I played of the series and it transformed me from only an MMO gamer into a lover of single player games. I waited nearly 10 years for Veilguard and I adore it. I've got like 50 hours in my first playthrough and I'm nowhere near the end, I'm just having such a good time. I think the companions are charming, and even when the writing quirks rear their head, the gameplay and everything else is just so fun for me. The best way to engage with this series, as someone who's unfortunately been in the fandom for a decade, is to just detach from everyone else's opinions about the series and just focus on how it feels for you. I'm so glad seeing that y'all are into it and I hope you keep going with it, either on the channel or on your own
not me singing along with julia as she sings the robot unicorn song
I love this game franchise, but I wish they didn't have an explanation for every world secret in this game plus some other stuff. I'm loving my playthrough though and know folks on their second playthroughs
My cat crossed the rainbow bridge on Saturday, so seeing Joy and Olive makes me feel a little better ❤
