I think you've forgotten that a key feature in the game is that you can buy everything without anyone manning the shops…that goes for all shops. Not just the general store. You just need to press shop.
And I really want to say that each map area has at least 1 artifact spot daily and each map area has different sets. If you keep only digging up the dig site, you will only get repeats of artifacts.
And you need to send your animals in every day. Your coop location is not the issue.
Just to help to move.your coop put your animals in daycare and then remove your coop
