  1. In 2016 I spent $49 for this game used from GameStop and here we are in 2024 and I’m still playing it. They have given us so many updates and they haven’t charged a single penny. I will say its A bit laggy on my original Xbox one , but I know everyone else is enjoying it on the newer consoles and PC. What other game can you say has done this much for free. So if anything, maybe be a little bit nicer in your tone when you’re talking about what this game hasn’t done, and don’t forget to thank them at the end of your video

  2. I want more agressive huge and gigantic creatures, make some of those space faring cratures attack your ship. Maybe a new agressive empire or empires that starts taking over star systems that players own but haven't maintained. Planet eaters. pvp combat. Faction based combat both pvp and pve. arm our freighters to fight some of these baddies. gun emplacements on our bases to defend our creations.

basically give players a sense of neccessity to do what they do other than a pavlovian "git er done" "grab bag of pointlessness.

  3. I loved Star Wars Galaxies Creature Hunter mechanic. Would love to see something similar in NMS, including creatures trying to hunt you if you get close to their babies, which you could tame.

Space scripted fleet combat would be great.

  4. I want them to add Animal Husbandry on freighters. I can grow acres of plants for food and resources, but not animals. It would also be nice to have pens for your pets so you can admire them like you fleet of ships in the hangar.

  5. Thank you! While I love the ever growing list of free updates, I believe a lot is being lost amongst the glowing possitivity. I see two groups of people falling for some of this. The first group is the people who do not know a lot about NMS. They casually followed the hype and focused on the wrong missing feature when the game released. Largely the multiplayer. And even though Sean did lie about the feature being in the game, he always maintained that it would be a tiny part of rhe game. He compared it to something found in the game Journey. Once the Next uodate released and the further bombardment of free updates, that crowd (the majority) was quelled. Then there are the vets, who found aomething to love qith what we were given and every update gave them a bit more to chew on. Sadly, I'm one of those people who saw the vast potential of the game that was sold to me, but have yet to see it truly realized. Don't get me wrong. I have enjoyed what we've gotten to a certain extent. Been playing since launch and have countless hours on it. I've seen every update, played through every Expedition. Experienced the game last gen, current gen, portable and VR. However, still to this day, when I watch thise early trailers, I still get a bit frustrated with how far away we still are from that experience. Chasing ships into planets looked exhilarating. That doesn't happen in the game. Ships attack you and you have a few options. Kill them. They kill you. You flee and outrun them. But they have absolutely no care for thier lives. They will never flee even when their deaths are eminent. The game still feels so static. Hopefully with the Worlds update that begins to change. Personally I just think they focused on fixing or implementing the wrong features at the expense of promised features still not realized. The Companions update was completely useless. As was Bytebeat, Frontiers and (yes even Fishing as well) Aquarius. I wouldn't mind extra featires like that, once the 4 original pillers got their proper overhauls. Features like Base building recieved so much attention, but core features like creature behavior and animation, creating an engaging game play loop and an overall AI overhaul was put to the wasteside. And now with LNF on the way, I fear that we're heading towards the end of NMS updates. I have so much more to say, but this comment is freakishly long already..

  6. I would love a creature update, but I do not want "random encounters". RNG Encounters with animals would be cool at first, but just like every other RNG element of NMS, it'd eventually get tedious with the "Fun" of it falling off after your enth encounter with your 32nd Creature. I would also like the animals to look better, there are some RNG elements that get paired together to create really weird animals and I get that it's part of the point- Since alien planets would be vastly different, but some of them just look… "Low Quality". I would even prefer less animal variations, if the animals just Looked better.

Why do the Space Battles HAVE TO include us? Why do we never see battles happening that we aren't FORCED into? We don't get to travel into the system and have the option, it's always us warping in behind the Dreadnaught and Freighters and choosing if we want to take part in it. The only time MY Freighter is even useful is if I summon it in for a Space Fight and even then, they're hardly worth it. Since you have a large possibility of bugging out that fight, not being able to lock on, or flying into the Freighter.

  7. I feel as if reworking the icon system so that players won’t know until they come across certain items. certain places. Certain systems. I think that would give players that feel of achievement as well beinging more enjoyment towards exploration.

  8. 2:58 It's not just how the creatures act, but their level of interaction with the environment. That rhino was kicking up dust and bending trees as it ran, and the diplos were deliberately languishing in the water. Even after 8 years, something as basic as that is still lacking!

Hopefully, with how focused the current series of updates is focused on improving aspects of planets on a systemic level, this finally gets addressed.

  9. Nailed it.

The lack of emergent gameplay mechanics becomes obvious within a few hours of starting the game.

Theres still a lot to do, but it’s entirely scripted. Every battle the same, every encounter the same. Im hoping they are just laying down the ground work though.

They need to script these events before they can throw them into the generator.

And the universe would probably require a reset before it could take effect. IDK

  10. now I'm pretty sure you said this video is not a complaint, but damn dude it sounds like you complaining quite a bit about the fishing. you are probably one of a handful that don't like it, the fishing is great I think. Quick word also, maybe stop watching the original add

  11. This stuff is important to talk about because it gives Hello Games an idea of what they need to do to improve their game, I see too many people in the No Man's Sky community argue against criticism like Hello Games can't handle it for some reason :p

one major problem I have with the game is just how boring the graphics and planets have been for the longest time, ever since the Next update it's gone for this more "realistic" look which would be fine if they kept the variety and colors from the Atlas Rises version, I swear the planets have been boring as hell due to them removing assets for not looking "realistic" enough and not to mention the terrain has also been massively downgraded as well, back in the atlas rises version I remember finding way more unique stuff and interesting terrain then what I find in the modern version of the game, everything generated in such a unique way back in atlas rises and I miss it quite a bit.

8:25 also I'm so glad someone else has noticed this, this animation missing has bugged me for the longest time, I hope they either add it back in or they add a new and improved version of it eventually.

  12. i actually like fishing a lot, the problem is that they did it very poorly instead of making it exciting.

If youre going to add fishing, make it good, all it is rn is cast n click cookie clicker gameplay.

  13. Why the fishing came along is because some fan drew a picture of his character fishing off his ship wing and posted it on hello games Twitter and Mr Murray loved it and that's what brought the fishing into the game

  14. the rhino thing and the stampede, i think were just for hype and not an actual thing they meant to put in the game. im not defending anyone here, just stating that it doesnt seem very realistic that they actually intended for that to be a thing. i could be wrong, but games are limited. could you imagine seeing that for the first time would be like oooh, wow. then the 2nd and 3rd time, wow, thats cool….4 and 5th times. cool….6th and 7th times….neat……8th and 9th times…….meh.

  15. 5:56 actually, i have had some occasions where a point of interest was being attacked by pirates and i got into my ship and engaged them in a dog fight in planet, only for us to continue into space. I know this is different from what you described but i find it hard to believe that the vice versa has never happened before.

  16. i do agree combat needs more, but if you are near a trade outpost or some building, pirates can come down at start attacking., granted the building itself doesnt take damage and nothing really happens, they just end up shooting at you or some other ships while on the ground. also its very rare this happens. well rare for me.
