"Fascist" Spirituality

Otto Excelsior and I discuss the common yet counterintuitive phenomenon of religion and even genuine spirituality among fascists and quasi-fascists. (Disclaimer: neither Otto nor I are actual fascists, or even quasi-fascists, except I suppose to the indoctrinated far left who consider anyone to the right of the Young Turks to be “fascists.” This would include the American founding fathers and pretty much everyone born before modern times.)

  1. Just finished the book "DUX Mussolini" from Werner Bräuninger. It completely changed my opinion on fascism and especially on the Duce Mussolini. He was a brave man and loyal to the end. Once again history has shown that the most horrific acts such as rape and desecration of corpses (partisans to Mussolini and Clara Petacci or in the Spanish Civil War) were perpetrated by the dishonorable Marxist-Communist hordes.

  2. This makes me think of the dichotomy between what can be basically regarded as conservatism and liberalism and the challenges and blending of the two as new generations form their unique style. We try to conserve values and lessons that have been hard learnt in history and pass this down to the next generation while it seeks to learn from its own mistakes and carve its unique path in time. Of course give an inch and a mile is taken and we get unhinged liberalism such as seen on the hard left that wants to throw out the baby with the bath water so to speak. So the pendulum swings, too far right into stuffy fascistic, overbearing sickness and then too far left into vulgarity, depravity, sickness. The rebellion against the extreme of the other typically necessitates a momentum that swings the pendulum too far the other way. We gotta find a way off the pendulum and keep the freedom of liberalism while conserving the core hard learnt lessons and values of history.
