  1. The opening narration and music is from Peter and The Wolf a piece of music written for children. I had a copy of it as a kid, each character is identified by a musical instrument When I heard it in this episode, the first time in years, it blew my mind. I had forgotten how much I loved the record as a kid. Each character seemed to be linked to a character in Peter and The Wolf – I honestly don't remember enough of the story to make the connection why. I'm sure someone else can explain it better. All I can say is it brought back a rush of childhood memories when I heard it.

  2. As far as I remember the Coen brother named the movie "FARGO" because it sounds better then "Braynard", the place where the events actually take place. So yeah, Fargo is a "real" place but the show or the movie are not about Fargo, now "Fargo" means "weird crimes taking place in cold environment with interesting characters and people making dumb things" XD

  3. Fargo is the largest city in North Dakota on the west side of the Red River opposite Moorhead Minnesota. If you needed a divorce in 1880-90s in the US, Fargo was the place to go. In 1957, a huge tornado destroyed much of the city. Scientist Ted Fujita used photos of the storm to develop the Fujita Scale, category 1-5, to better ascertain danger. The Fargo series is shot mostly in and around Calgary in season1-3 and 5 and season 4 in Chicago. The series itself is of course excellent in its own right, but it's extra fun for me to try and identify locations used in my old hometown.

  4. I sort of forgot it existed, but Varga's speech about wealth influenced me a lot in my writing. I created a whole cabal of bad guys who are "the world's real 1%", names you'll never of heard of in a million years. You don't know they exist because they don't want you to know. It probably came about from a few sources but Varga was definitely a big part of it.

  5. 17:06 "He was a little 'shooken' up… shaken" 🤔 "shaken? Stirred?" "Shaken" and
"I like the molding around the door" "You like it?!" "Just interesting. I wouldn't do it, but…"
It's this level of high quality reaction that makes you guys my favourite 😂
