  1. Just to let you know, this makes a MASSIVE change to Star Wars canon. Originally, the Nightsisters were created in 600 BBY by a Jedi Knight named Allya, who had been expelled from the Jedi Order and imprisoned on Dathomir (which was a prison colony at the time). There, she taught the native Dathomirian women to use the Force, leading to the creation of the "Witches of Dathomir" (aka. the Daughters of Allya), with their teachings, the "Book of Law" being based on the Jedi Code. But then the Witches began breaking up into various covens, with some adhering completely to the dark side. Normally, Nightsisters that used the dark side were exiled, but over time they all became dark side (but not necessarily evil, like Sith).
But then several decades before the fall of the Republic, a group of Iridonian Zabraks discovered Dathomir and the Human Nightsisters. They soon realized they were genetically compatible, and that led to the creation of Dathomirian species (aka. Dathomirian Zabraks, like Maul, Savage, Ventress, and Merrin).

  2. Chris's Togruta montral hat is everything. Also, the actor who plays Admiral Thrawn in live-action is indeed Lars Mikkelsen, the same actor who provided the voice of Thrawn in SW Rebels. You can tell from those high cheek bones!

  3. This episode came out five-and-a-half years after the Rebels finale first aired, so that is how long many fans, myself included, had been waiting for Ezra and Thrawn's return!

One thing I love about this episode is that pretty much everything looks like something out of Lord of the Rings. The landscape, the witches' fortress, the giant statues, the howlers, and the Noti all feel very Tolkienesque. Plus, Dave Filoni has previously likened Ahsoka to Gandalf, and her transformation into Ahsoka the White in the last episode is definitely inspired by Gandalf's transformation in Lord of the Rings. Also, according to the cast list in the end credits, the Great Mothers are named after the three fates of Greek mythology. I love when Star Wars draws inspiration from other sources like that.

My only complaint is that the first interaction between Ezra and Sabine felt too awkward. I get what Dave was going for–he wanted them to pick up their banter right where it left off–but they've been apart for so long that I think it would have made more sense for them to get emotional first and then continue their banter. Still, seeing them reunited after five-and-a-half years was very satisfying for me!

  4. It's so funny to me that no one points out that Sabine and Shin Hati have the most obvious crush on one another. Like, they're looking at each ither the whole time like they wanna hook up and not only that, at some point tgey kinda say things that shows they don't really wanna fight another

  5. 13:29 no bro you're mixing 2 different episodes xD
Marketa is talking about the scottish lemurs, from the episode with Aayla Secura, Anakin and Ahsoka and you're talking about
the episode with the tiny people with 3PO, R2 and commander Wolffe

  6. I had a really big smile on my face when I saw Ezra again. He looks like Moses from The Prince of Egypt.

And the Great Mothers remind me of the Sisters of Fate in Greek Mythology and the Nords in Norse Mythology.

  7. One thing movies or shows don't show well is how long it takes to travel. I remember in the Attack of The Clones novel it takes a couple weeks for Anakin and Padme to get from Courasant to Naboo

  8. Thrawn's entrance was stone cold badass……….that trooper's fit and the chanting with the deep pipe organ music gave me chills the first time. Really looking forward to more future live action Thrawn

  9. It's hard to watch, but people really should watch The Cove. It's a documentary, not a movie. It's not supposed to be easy. It's supposed to be real. And if you think The Cove is hard to watch, you probably haven't seen Earthlings. It's so impactful that it makes you consider going vegan.

  10. 0:25-That would be Lux Bonteri, son of the late Senator Mina Bonteri of Onderon (who was a Separatist) and a leading member of the Onderon Rebellion against the Separatist puppet government of Onderon. He would then become the new Senator of Onderon in the Republic.

  11. Thawne actor is the voice actor. You must also factor in that Ezra was shot in one of his arm and had no light saber when he was last seen yet he was able to escape and survived until he healed when Thawne had an army.

It’s unknown what Erza did over the years. Did he train his force powers, train in his light saber skills using a saber-like stick, or was he unable to due to having to keep moving around to survive.

  12. I didn't realize how tall Lars Mikkelsen was until he stood next to Ray Stevenson (RIP). Ray Stevenson is huge yet Mikkelsen is taller. He makes Wes Chatham look small.
