Dave, please quit calling it the daughter's room. Swiss Family Robinson had only 3 sons. The girl was not thier daughter. She was found when 2 of the boys took a trip around the island. They saved her from the pirates.
Just so you know in Swiss Family Robinson ( ALL versions of Swiss Family) there was NEVER a daughter. Roberta aka Birdie, was NOT the daughter of the Robinsons. The Robinson family has three boys Ernest, Fritz & Frances. Ernest & Fritz rescued Roberta from the pirates by the request of her grandfather, who was an explorer. Mother told Roberta that she always wanted a girl she just didn't expect one for Christmas, referring to Roberta. The room in the new Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse would be the girl's room NOT the daughter's.

I am patiently waiting for a day when you are able to deliver good news about Disneyland. In my view, of course. The closure of Splash Mountain is a terrible idea. The closure of Tortilla Jo’s is a terrible idea. The reservation system is never going away. The nickel and dimming with Genie+, park hopper fees and parking fees is irritating. Especially Genie+ since it creates the problem that it purports to fix. I could go on. Sad. Very sad.
The Disneyland hotel structures by the pool are “garden” villas for DVC

That "unit" you see out in the parking lot is a finishes mock-up. Every project that has significant or unique exterior finish materials or combination of finishes adjacent to each other has mock-ups. Usually, it's just a panel of exterior veneer/stucco/siding, or a small section of roofing or other finish. In this case, they've probably decided to build something more three-dimensional given the wide variety of finishes being utilized. It's designed to see how the material will look out in the real space, and how it will weather. That's why it's been sitting out there for over a year. ETA: you'll also see hardware on them often too, to see how metals like guardrails and handrails and exterior panels that aren't being painted (anodized, galvanized, clear coated, etc.) will also weather.

David, that building in the parking lot are what we call in the construction industry as a “mock-up”. Basically this is what each room will look like.

According to DVC those are not cabanas. They are garden rooms much like the garden rooms in WDW. They will be deluxe studios that sleep 4. Also the “mystery structure” is an exterior mock up for the construction managers. It helps them work out details before production. Great video just wanted to clear that up for you. We are very excited about the new tower!
