Fantasia says she was kicked out of Airbnb because she's Black #shorts

Fantasia Barrino, a former winner of “American Idol” who is starring in the movie “The Color Purple,” said she was discriminated against by an Airbnb owner in Mooresville, claiming her family was forced to leave the property they rented for her son’s 12th birthday party.

“My stomach is so uneasy this morning as I’m riding back to my home in the cold and rain,” she posted on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter. “I don’t say much when people do me wrong, but I can’t stay quiet on how my family and I were just treated from a host with @Airbnb @airbnbhelp trying to kick my kids and I out at 12:00 midnight.”

Fantasia said in an Instagram video that she was contacted by the property owner around 11:30 p.m., hours after the kids were put to bed, for multiple noise complaints. That’s when the singer says they were asked to leave the home.

“It’s evident to me this was racial profiling and the treatment we received was due to the color of our skin,” Barrino’s post says. “I wanted my son to enjoy his friends (10-12) and make him feel special as I have been traveling for the last 35+ days promoting a movie I starred in. This time, I dare not stay quiet.” #shorts #Fantasia #colorpurple #news #localnews #politics #breakingnews #entertainment #celebrities

  1. Like she said she can do her own thing and feel if though it's a racist thing let it been the other way around but it's ok dang she can't even have fun with her own kids crazy.. maybe it wasn't the owners maybe the people around her 😢

  2. This put a bad taste in my mouth with Airbnb 🚫 7 children? They had a paint and sip. Hot chocolate and painting animated characters. Then they told stories outside. Oh no !!! There's too many issues with Airbnb!!! The reservation was made for the number of people who showed up!!! Eventually, Airbnb will be banned in most cities! Astronomic fees!!! Fire pit on-site, but you can't use it! Hot tub on-site, but you can't use it!!! Sure, that sounds like an amazing time 😂😂😂

  3. Okay, I guess I still don't understand. This was not an open invitation party where 20-30 ppl were there. It was really a birthday sleepover with at least 8 kids and a couple of adults. Having a sip and paint with hot chocolate and a gaming bus doesn't seem like a big birthday party to me. She said the kids were in bed early watching a movie. The call came in at least 2 hours after the kids were in bed. Why didn't she or her husband get these calls in the day time allegedly when the noises were heard?

One of my friends rented an Airbnb in my area for her daughter's 16th birthday in April. There were 4 teen girls there that were laughing, talking, singing, swimming, eating at this home. This was a birthday sleepover as well. No one complained about the noise. The wonderful hosts I was told understood the reason for the birthday party sleepover and did not have an issue.

The issue is with the host of her Airbnb and the neighbors.

  4. So if the number of people booked show up, they can’t celebrate an occasion? What if an extended family rented for a holiday and they celebrate together. Is that a party? I’m confused here. 6 kids with no DJ and in bed by 9 is quite tame unless you’re just telling the guest they can’t have fun.

  5. I believe that her kids was loud and unruly and because she is a celebrity they probably thought that they could do whatever they want to do and the aurbnb owner was watching what was going on in their home and asked them to leave I don't believe it was because she is black property owners don't want they're home destroyed and loud music and noise stop blaming everything on being black
