This Fantasia is a favorite among guitarists who have some Renaissance pieces in their repertoire. I played it for years on guitar with the capo on 3 and the g string tuned down a half step to f#. In that way you can play lute music on a modern classical guitar, but now I have a lute. The guitar is wonderful and versatile – but this here is an actual Renaissance lute. I’m aiming to record most of the lute music I used to play on guitar – on the lute.
