  2. 2:37:02 The card art there HAS to be a reference to a famous American painter, Norman Rockwell. I doubt he has much visibility outside of the U.S., as his main claim to fame was the chief illustrator for a VERY Americana magazine, the Saturday Evening Post, for like fifty years. A lot of the "retro-future" art in Fallout I am CONVINCED is inspired by his work.

Some of his most famous paintings are "The Four Freedoms" Look up Freedom From Want. It's basically a 1:1 for that card, and was painted in 1943, so PEAK that Americana aesthetic.

  3. Multiple times you referred to Ulysses as a big horner rancher… which he never was. He was a tribal warrior, then a Legion Frumentarii posing as a courier, and lastly a madman bent on bombing everything to hell and back.

Along with many other incorrect claims like calling a set of T-60 T-45 in the art for Battle for Project Purity…

  5. 3:27:20 The names of ships and similar crafts are often italicized in regular text; so in a primarily italicized text, the names would not be italicized to achieve the same effect. I'm not sure why this is a thing; I assume it's related to why book titles and such are italicized or otherwise made to stand out from the rest of a text. The Prydwen being an airship, this would apply to it; whereas Liberty Prime is the name of a robot or "person," whose names shouldn't stand out from the rest of a text.

  6. The Sticky Fingers card is literally. It just scratches a part of my brain that’s makes be go full loot goblin mode. And an answer to one of your questions on stream, another non hostile talking glowing one is Oswald from Nuka World.

  7. Fun fact the original devs of fallout 1 and 2 were big fans of magic the gathering! So much so fallout 2 had collectable cards you can play against a ghoul using your gambling stat.

  8. The reinforcements card with the Desdemona flavor text is actually completely made up, stitching together two different events. The Desdemona line is for when the railroad invades the institute, with assistance of the synth rebellion. But the art is the NCR dropping soldiers from from 3/NV style vertibirds, which means the art is probably supposed to be part of the the battle for hoover dam

It just wouldn't make sense for the Railroad to have air support when they're all about being hidden in the shadows, not to mention that air reinforcements would make no sense when for the railroad ending you are teleporting the railroad into the institute

The card just makes no sense from a flavor stand point, and it's weird because all they had to do was replace the Desdemona quote for one of any NCR character. It makes it stick out like a sore thumb since every other card has so much effort into properly representing the franchise

Btw that one card with the coastal town in FO4 is probably meant to be Salem. The size of that area more closely matches the art of the card than Nahant does.

Second btw, you said Vault 21 succeeded in keeping its people safe, completely skipping over the fact that Vault 21 was filled with gambling addicts, who were told every decision had to be taken through games of chance. The vault surviving was honestly a miracle until they lost the rights to the vault to Mr. House. It's still not that happy of an ending, just a less bloody one

  9. 2:55:18 A Prime Mirelurk Queen spawns during one of the sub/side quest events during Grahm's Meat Week. Specifically during the Prime Cuts sub event in the Mire where you need to fight a few waves of Radtoads, Mirelurks/hunters/kings and Gulpers before a Prime Mirelurk Queen boss appears at the end.

That's Strong. A companion from Fallout4. The "junk" quote is a voice line from the game. He says it when he's with the player, and they pick stuff up, and he says it often. Strong prefers the player spends their time killing things, not collecting them.

  11. For all the flack I have given Wizards the past year, that they have spnsored the creation of this immense 5 hour video of fallout goodness is incredible. I am only an hour in, but I am thoroughly enjoying the video. And love the lore and art analysis and what not. I have to agree, from all the observation you've done this far in the video, it is clear Wizards hired some great people to dig up all kinds of fallout goodness.

  12. Good God, 5 hour long video for not even 10k views in 48 hours on a 700k channel (at the time of writing). I hope that bag was heavy enough to compensate for it because if not yikes.

  13. I love the lore explanation for so many of these! While i was personally able to pick out so much, there were just as many references i didn't know. Such great work with this set, and thanks Camelworks for filling in the gaps.
