  1. Why is emphasis only geared towards Riverine places. In Bayelsa for example, it will take 4,5,6 hours from Yenagoa or from a LGA to reach a community. Particularly communities close to the Atlantic ocean.

  2. This is very interesting, I think it all boils down to semantics- lexical semantics, a lot of conundrums to resolve. Why the use of the conjunction, 'and ' instead of 'in addition '? Another puzzle, if Abuja is regarded as a state without any special status, the governor of Abuja is supposed to be the president, as a governor is he not expected to have at least a quarter of the votes in a state he will be governor?

  3. The registration number were as a result of some certain ethnics people doing double registration in the place of their residence also travelling back to their home state and registered again, but the BVAS will surely pick this up when they go for voters accreditation and the system will disqualify them automatically. This is the reason so many people were not allow to vote. The registration must be revisited.

  4. Kenneth Okonkwo has provided another good answer. What if the FCT is the 37th state? Section 299 of the constitution says the president shall be the governor of the FCT. The electoral act requires a governor to win 25 % of the votes in 2/3 of the local governments in his state, so how can someone who wants to become the president of the country, and so the governor of the FCT, do so without winning 25 % of the votes cast in the same FCT?

  5. How do you people really expect a high turn out with all the insecurity, intimidaton, and violence that are meted out by politicians. Also, INEC's complicity in perpetuating fraud by not opening up on time or not even opening up polling stations during elections contributes immensely to the so called turn out.

  6. It is a political interpretation to say that FCT is like any other state and so it's not mandatory. Question, why did the constitution not say 25% of valid votes in 2/3 of the states AND LAGOS or AND Adamawa or AND Bauchi, or AND RIVERS, This is a simple thing, you don't need to be a lawyer to see this clearly. The FCT is mandatory.

  7. It’s time that in Nigeria we stop to play hide and seek with democracy. The rule of law must be enforced across all the chain of the electoral system or else the credibility of our elections will always lead to tribunal proceedings.

  8. Madness in practice in Nigeria.
Just a section of a constitution written by lawmakers this is what is difficult for the lawyers in the whole Nigeria cannot interpret.
Every lawyer have a different interpretation of just a section of a constitution.

Is this the type of democracy Nigeria and Nigerians are preparing to build on?

Three conditions stipulated to be mearnt before you can be declared as a winner for tge office of the president of a Nation is what our jurists are finding ot difficult to interpret..

    What a shame.
Listening to Nigeria lawyers is a waste of time.

  9. Rufai and the Arise TV crew needs needs to watch this, a journalist is not suppose to be biased. Your personal views are not needed during an interview likewise unnecessary interruptions of your guest. Even where you disagree just rephrase tne question smartly to drive home question. Your emotions should not take the better of you

  10. If all states are equal and FCT is seen as a state for the purpose by the constitution, why do the 36 states have three (3) Senators and the 37th State has only One (1) Senator? Just asking.
Maybe, the FCT has the 25% super vote to compensate for having a third (⅓) of the Senators.

  11. The way election is been talked about and carry around in evil Nigeria without meaning if real development is been done like the way it been done in hongkong the so called Nigeria without meaning would have been in the same class with uk and Europe and Japan

  12. The only solution for this contentious election is a total rerun. Under a different and better equipped INEC in which everyone deprived of their franchise earlier can be able to vote. This particular presidential election was a sham. A charade. Highly rigged. It wasn’t a free & fair election.
