The in-game start date for the episode was the 23rd of Fessuran in the year 843. Marisha’s fan says “Where are we?” on one side, and “Hi Sam” on the other.
Look, I’ve seen Midsommar, but also… maypoles are fun. Like, it’s definitely the kind of thing people did before actually fun forms of entertainment were invented, but they’re pretty and festive and summery.
Any moments I missed? Feel free to post them here. Is it Thursday yet?
Hi! I don't know if this was mentioned yet but the upload for this episode on Spotify is broken!!! It's only the first 3 minutes for C3E60! Hope you all can see this and have a chance to fix it❤️ Love the show and have almost caught up through all 3 seasons😅
I find the situation with the church and the villagers to be so interesting (and precarious). On one hand, you have people who have been in the land and living harmoniously with it for quite some time. On the other side, a group from vassalheim who have forcefully taken up residence, have their own guards patroling, and have connections to a lumber mill that overharvests and doesnt take steps to repair the damage theyve caused. I'd personally side with the villagers. However…the villagers also are possibly siding with an outside force that the group is in opposition to. The elder of the village gives me some bad vibes. I think the villagers have every right not to want a massive temple forcefully made and religious officers that patrol and make them feel they cant speak freely. Theres a difference between having a designated area to worship and straight up taking over the town for some secretive mission they refuse to talk about. But unfortunately, the villagers have been swayed into an extreme position along the lines of 'because the followers of these gods are dicks, the gods must also be dicks and we should literally eradicate them and listen to some random voice that came right before nearly a dozen of our people disappeared.'
It's also tricky because our real world concept of religion doesnt necessarily apply in the same way that religion in a world where there is the real, tangible connection and power granted to followers of the gods. While some interactions might be similar (oppressive religious governments that dont allow the worship of any gods not deemed appropriate, crusades in the name of certain faiths, etc), there is the difficult question of…are the gods oppressive?
Also, emily and aimee are amazing and im very happy to see them at the same table!
Critique: In the future, the group probably should give their guests a rundown of the basics if they're new to D&D. It would save a lot of time to know which dice are which and how they are used.
bor’dor calling hender “uncle” just put a smile on my face
Proleff 100% looks like Soos from Gravity Falls
The Chad bit was absolutely amazing improvisation from Matt 10/10
Gotta say, this storyline is pretty disconcerting. Just get the heebie-jeebies about the whole thought process of the group (of characters) in this particular arc. But that's definitely part of storytelling at times
For some reason the Spotify version of this episode is only 5 minutes. I can't continue the story because I listen at work and don't have the time to watch the VOD
Its incredibly tedious to see how much overt hate there is towards the gods and subsequently their religions in the game. It's a world where the gods contributions and boons are completely undeniable and far reaching. Yet nearly every damn character since the first game with only a couple exceptions is so annoyingly anti-god. It's exhausting. It truly feels like the players own real world biases are flooding over on this issue. Which is dumb because it's an entirely different situation in so many ways. I just wish they would think inside the games setting in regards to this topic. It's the empire and dynasty issue but far more present and persisting. Both sides were clearly meant to be neither evil nor good, filled with all sorts of problems but also good things. Yet the party just went all in for the dynasty without hesitation and shit on the empire the whole campaign.
The book of monsters was one of Sam's best bits in a while, ngl 😂😂
4:04:00 “I’m like…a melee bitch.”
Laudna talking to Paté sounds A LOT like me talking to my ginger cat, ie "don't be an asshole".
12:42
i really need that gif with Taliesin' "i can think of os many ways that could go worng"!
32:41 i just realized that she can cast spells trough… TWO pets at the same time! I mean-.. I mean it's cool, but at the same time pretty fckng broken – having a triangle of sources for spells in battlefield! Just think about it for a minute! You can place them in flank position around %target/location% and get it in circle… SOLO! Good luck to avoid-n-dodge counterspells and other fun stuff!!!
Also, it's a really cool way for custom home-made spell and any other "twin" spells…
At first, i thought she can use only her Book for casting – but now she can use and Raven too?!.. That's awesome!
whisper i'm so glad to see Emily in this show ! The hero Gotham-.. i mean Critical Role needs!!!
This episode' ending is one of my favourite endings in entire show: Emily' words about "counterspelling" palading crits-.. Well: this is what i wanted to see in DnD games. Thank u, Emily, i really miss that!!
"that some Magic the Gathering' shit!!!"(c) Matt about some crazy players moves during s2/s3…
…about moves, which also pretty normal n common for any other but CR' table -_-
PS i'll miss Emily when she'll leave this show – as all guest do at some point. I ALREADY miss her, because that's inevitably . . .
Btw, can we accept the irony that Laudna was hanged in a town square, the ultimate of crossroads?
Matt doing the Strong Bad voice absolutely killed me! 😂
I like how during Sams monster book display while he was reading from the book, he didn't look down to read one time lol
I just need to say that besides Liam's speech, watching Aimee lust for combat at 04:12:11 thinking they're about to roll initiative, only to become utterly frustrated that the session was concluding always brings me back to this one.
The mad mage of wildemount has to be how it’s written in the history books
Emily's teacup is bigger than her teapot.
Emily Axford, I did not know you before this, but you are a gift and a treasure to this community, thank you for enlightening us with your presence and incredible humor. <3
I'm going to be very disappointed if Imogen doesn't meet Dynios and call him a dumbass.
I just realized the apple bees solstice would be kinda like if the internet got taken away, or if an EMP went off. lol
Anyone find it strange that the laxative was bought for something that was useful. for a scenario before the party knew it was going to happen?
Utkarsh is actually a really good roleplayer; he shows up with nothing, takes and barters with people, uses it to his favor when interacting with others. He's very resourcefull and makes do with the mundane with this character and gets really creative and I really like it.
Liam found the void where all the missing socks and guitar picks go
