  1. We were at a friends house and a friend of the husband who’s house it was showed up who everyone thought was cool, as soon as I saw him my brain tried to figure out what was wrong with him because something was off and I couldn’t put my finger on it so my brain had a bunch of random things that didn’t make sense to try and explain why I felt uncomfortable like I was like maybe it’s just cause he’s a grown man with a chain on his wallet 🤷🏻‍♀️. A few hours later he pulled a knife on all of us at the dinner table and someone had to sit there and talk him down from whatever psychotic episode he was having. I realized my spirit was sensing something my mind tried to explain away and I have since stopped trying to explain away why someone made me uncomfortable and just trust it

  2. It is very refreshing for me to hear men talk about their wives in this way – appreciative and loving. That's SO important …unfortunately in my cultural surroundings I didn't get much of that, so that is really really nice.

  3. Mr. Freitas didn't talk his and his wife's divorced parents as much in his other videos. A question I have from more of a Catholic stand point though is, should Catholic adult children of divorce go through counseling first before deciding to get married?

Or should maybe marriage preparation with one's priest include more discussion on how one's parents' divorce may affect them in their marriage?

  4. This episode speaks to my soul. I have demonstrated that I fear raising a son (he's two) that will be a brat so I lay down the law with a firm tone and sometimes an angry one. My wife has asked be to soften it, and I'm trying to do better with my firmness (something that will come in handy as I raise our daughter). God, when Nick talked about his daughter calling him out I can only hope that I never make the mistake he made when he was short with his children.

  5. Nick Freitas is a good man, I registered to vote in Virginia (I was stationed in Quantico at the time) just so I could sign the petition at a gun show to get him on the ballot. Whereas the political staffs there are often people just trying to make their way into politics, his entire staff clearly has such reverence for him.

  6. I wish I had heard a lot of this advice (and listened) 5 years ago. Could have avoided a very painful marriage. I fooled myself into thinking we shared values. Ignored so many red flags. Sometimes wisdom comes at a high price.

  7. The notion of a flawless marriage or relationship is a myth. There's no set formula for success; what works for one couple may not work for another. Yet, I've discovered that there's always a way forward, even in the most challenging times. Five years ago, my wife and I encountered significant hurdles in our marriage that nearly led to divorce. Despite the adversity, we managed to weather the storm and emerge from it with our bond renewed and revitalized.

  8. The Holy King, LORD God, Our Father, Who art in heaven,
    Hallowed be Thy Name.
    Thy Kingdom come.
    Thy Will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
    And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

    Hail Mary,
    Full of Grace,
The Lord God is with thee.
    Blessed art thou among women,
    and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Lord God Jesus.
    Holy Mary,
Mother of the Lord God Jesus, the Holy King
    pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.

    Amen.

    Glory be to the Father,
    and to the Son,
    and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
    is now,
    and ever shall be,
    world without end.

    Amen.

Holy Angel of the Lord God,
    my guardian dear,
To whom the Lord God's holy love
    commits me here,
    Ever this day,
    be at my side,
    To light and guard,
    Rule and guide.

    Amen.

    St. Michael the Archangel,
    defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May the Lord God, the King rebuke him, we humbly pray,
    and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of the Lord God, the King
    thrust into hell Satan,
    and all the evil spirits,
    who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. .

    O glorious prince St. Michael,
chief and commander of the heavenly hosts,
guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits,
servant in the house of the Divine King
    and our admirable conductor,
    you who shine with excellence
and superhuman virtue deliver us from all evil,
who turn to you with confidence
and enable us by your gracious protection
to serve the Lord God, the Holy King Jesus Christ more and more faithfully every day. Amen.

    Salve Regina/Hail Holy Queen

Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile show us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Lord God Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Holy Virgin Mary.

    Versicle & Response

    V.  Pray for us, O Holy Mother of the King Lord God, the Father.

    R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of the Lord God Jesus Christ.

O my Lord God Jesus, forgive us our sins,
    save us from the fires of hell;
lead all souls to heaven especially those who are in most need of
    Your mercy.
    Amen.

Holy Angel of the Lord God, the King
    my guardian dear,
To whom the Lord God's holy love
    commits me here,
    Ever this day,
    be at my side,
    To light and guard,
    Rule and guide.

    Amen.

The Holy Angel of the Lord God, the Holy King declared to Holy Mary:
And she conceived of the Lord God, the Holy Spirit.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord God, the Holy King is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Lord God Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of the Lord God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Behold the handmaid of the Lord God, the King :Be it done unto me according to Thy word.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord God, the Holy King is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Lord God Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of the Lord God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

And the Holy Word was made Flesh: And dwelt among us.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord God, the King is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, the Lord God Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of the Lord God Jesus, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of the Lord Jesus God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of the Lord Jesus Christ.

    Let us pray:

Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord God, the King Thy grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the incarnation of the Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Holy Passion and Holy Cross be brought to the glory of His Holy Resurrection, through the same God Jesus Christ Our Lord and God.

    Amen.

'Hail, full of grace, the Lord God, the Holy King is with you' (Lk 1: 28)

    'Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb'
    (Lk 1: 42).

    Act of Holy Faith

O my Lord God, I firmly believe that Thou art one Lord God, in three Divine Persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost; I believe that Thy Divine Son became man and died for our sins and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths that the holy Catholic Church teaches, because Thou hast revealed them, Who canst neither deceive nor be deceived.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

    Act of Holy Hope

O My Lord God, relying on Thy infinite goodness and promises, I hope to obtain pardon of my sins, the help of Thy grace and life everlasting, through the merits of God Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

    Act of Holy Love

O my Lord God, I holy love Thee above all things with my whole heart and soul, because Thou art all good and worthy of all holy love. I Holy love my neighbor as myself for holy love of Thee. I forgive all who have injured me, and I ask pardon for all whom I have injured. And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

  10. I’m an hour into this and they’re is so much depth. Nick is a very respectful Christian man and it is wonderful hearing Matt giving him the platform that this entire message deserves. Let’s all strive to do better !!

  11. I cannot overstate the level to which this conversation is vital and necessary for men to hear and to wrestle with. This has been the most convicting and at the same time uplifting exchange I have seen on any social media platform in years. My thanks and appreciation to both of you, gentlemen, for boldly speaking truth in love.

  12. This was truly one of the best podcast’s I’ve listened to of late. I have so much respect for both of these men and learn so much about faith and being a good wife. We’re a little unique because we both come from secular upbringing and he from an intensely broken home. We met at 16 and 17 and moved in together quickly and did all the things secular couples did. We got married 10 years later and while we actually did live biblically sound lives as a married couple we’ve only in the past 4 years becoming wholly invested in Christ. It’s a GIGANTIC challenge though for each of us to change toward one another (in positive ways) after 35 years of dealing with our marriage differently. I only want to be the help mate that I’m supposed to be and fail miserably often but Nick’s words today on marriage has given me so much ammunition I need to be more understanding of him as a man and also as someone who needs more grace than some due to a lifetime of hurt. His paternal Great Grandfather, Grandfather, Uncle and Dad (last year) all committed suicide so it’s particularly important for me to bring him up not down. All to say THANK YOU to you both. I feel that we’ll be better with Jesus and your words.
