The daisies started coming up one day. I didn’t plant them. They just showed up, scattered here and there in the garden. At first, I thought about pulling them out, but I didn’t. I let them stay. Over time, they took over, grew into this big bush. Bright, white, and yellow, they lit up the whole yard. For a while, it was nice. It was something to look at, something alive. Then the day came when I had to clear them out to make space for my herbs. I pulled them up, one by one. It felt wrong, but I kept going. They were wild, after all. Now they’re gone, and the garden’s tidy again. But for a little while, they were there, and the place felt different. Better.
