F1 Manager 2022 Review

F1 Manager 2022 reviewed by James Swinbanks on PC. Also available on Xbox and PlayStation.

Even after my worst race results, where everything fell apart at the seams despite having what I felt was a concrete strategy and top-line drivers, I never walked away from a session in F1 Manager 2022 without a dumb smile on my face. Sure, sometimes the racing can look a little robotic and there are some key facets of modern F1 racing that are missing entirely, but this never detracts from the thrill of watching my drivers cross the line for some hard-earned points or their first-ever podium. The excitement and thrill of Formula 1 is here in spades.

  1. I'd love to see an F1 sim that encompasses the different decades of the sport. Imagine Fangio driving well into the '60s, or Rindt surviving & earning multiple world championships past 1970. The possibilities are practically limitless.

  2. the fact this game is also released on consoles make an huge difference in gameplay, adapted to joypad, and then with much less enless scrolling tables, that you usualy found on this type of game. meaning that the game as been simplified, like civilization revolution was a simplified version of the civilization series, for consoles.

  3. If you need a pitstop and you’re in the lead can you have a sister team’s driver pretend to break down to cause a safety car? Send them out and instruct them to park on the track?

  4. Rubbish crash effects, AI don't understand strategy at all, tyre compound doesn't matter at all, people overtake each other 50 times a lap, commentary and radio lines are super repetitive, 9/10 IGN.

  5. "Find a new job?" Thats sadly not how it works in this game.. Either Game over, or retry from season start.. The game still needs alot of work, but it can be quite fun at first, for sure.

  6. This review is pretty shallow, the more time you spend with the game the more you realize all of it matters very little. Money never really seems to be an issue no matter if you're a rich or poor team, tyre compounds make little difference, glitches abound, only the original 20 drivers have face scans, and much more! It's fun for the 1st season MAYBE 2nd but that's it.
