I love F-zero and I cannot put this game down. My favorite is also F-zero X, but right behind that is F-Zero: GP Legend. GPL had some amazing challenges that I felt tested your F-Zero skills the most. Now 99 takes those kills and pits them against other players. It's fantastic.

What I find magical about F-Zero 99 is that getting first place is such a satisfying achievement that feels almost exactly how it felt back in the day playing F-Zero GX beating stuff like the Very Hard Story Mode chapters or Master Class Grand Prix. Precious memories are being relived. This. This is why I've been wanting a new F-Zero and I am happy.

I completely agree, as soon as I saw this I immediately thought of how Miyamoto said they didn't make a new F-Zero game in 20 years because they didn't have any new ideas … well they did it now, they came up with a way to modernize the formula that makes perfect sense.

it is my personal GOTY for now. not FF16, not TOTK, it is THIS. I hope nintendo has a fzero strategy going. fzero99 now, fzero max velocity on NSO as next GBA drop, …. and then hopefully a GX remake or a completely new one.
I hope this can get us a new F-Zero game. We need a new skill-based first-party racing title from Nintendo.
This game took me right back to when I was 16 and playing fzero to death…..and always hoped for a sequal with 2 player mode but after a 30+ year wait I get something even better ….. my fave 99 download so far on the switch ….and so glad they kept the old snes music and didn't try updating it…. this is pure nostalgia with a modern multiplayer feel… and was free … well kind of lol… totally epic

I’m pretty much the opposite. F-Zero SNES is the only relevant one prior to F-Zero 99
Pacman99 tried too much being like Tetris99, fzero99 didn't need to get changed that much, just a little tweaks for fitting and balancing the amount of players which appears to have been easier due the racing genre.
I get the addictive feeling of it! I kept ending up in the top 5 and knew that I could eventually hit first and have fun doing it. I eventually did and couldn’t stop smiling

Im so glad F zero is getting love again, makes me hope GX gets a remaster like prime did. Or even a brand new game.

I really hope F-Zero 99 is a test for the next console, and the next F-Zero is this but with next gen graphics.
Far be it from Nintendo to refuse to listen to fans for like 19 years, make them give up all hope of seeing a sequel, then finally finally making another game that seems like no one would want and yet somehow SOMEHOW it turns out to be real fin.
F-Zero 99 has been so addicting, just wish there was a few more racers (Give me Black Shadow or James Mccloud 😂)
My hope is that Nintendo is using this to test drive F-Zero multiplayer so they can then release a proper next entry in the series… something close to, or better than, F-Zero GX. I've always thought it would be cool if the main grand prix mode had you race against actual people.
F-Zero X is my favorite racing game of all time (I much prefer its camera and how it handles it to GX), and an F-Zero X 99 would be the peak of my existence

I do not play racing games. Even Mario Kart gets old fast. I cannot put F-Zero99 down!
