Extremely Rare LEGO Galidor Prototype Figure!

Welcome back to the Outer Dimension, LEGO fans! Today we are looking at perhaps the rarest item in my collection: “Evil Nick”, aka “Kek Nick”.

A huge thank you to Matthew Ewald for sharing his insights and stories of Evil Nick with me; without him, this video would have been vapid.

  1. I vote for the R.R.Slugger LEGO Museum.

Also thank you for explaining why I felt like I saw an unreleased figure before. Thought I was going crazy for a minute.

  2. It's incredibly interesting seeing actual documentation of prototype pieces, even if I don't care much for Galidor specifically. It makes me wish for someone to show off other prototype molds, like the Sea-tron alien minifigure and 90s Sea serpent dragon

  3. Wow, that's amazing!
I feel like a fool for not catching that picture before; I guess I'm not up-to-date on my Galidor history.
That's so, so cool! I wonder what the feasibility is of making some reverse molds from the pieces, so that other fans can have some as well, or perhaps a 3D scan for printers or something.
Obviously, though, in small text somewhere, it would say "Recreation" or something, or have a detail changed so that people can't pretend it's a prototype part.
I've never really engaged with prototype parts before, so that's really cool! Seeing development history is always very fascinating to me, so it's great to see it here!
The way I see it, though, you ought to keep the part; at least, for a while. I follow Thomas the Tank Engine, which was originally filmed with models of everything. They're since switched to CGI, but the models are still floating around, and it's well-noted that, where most of them ended up (a theme park in the UK), they are mistreated and often broken. However, numerous other things have been collected and are held in safekeeping by fans.
You having that part is similar; it ensures it's in public, where it won't be broken, damaged, or lost, and preserves a piece of history in hands that can conceive how to take care of it.
Of course, it's your part now, so you can do what you want; I just figured I would offer my two cents!
I've really come around on Galidor, I'm starting to think about checking it out someday, perhaps. So good job!
Thanks for this video, I love showcases of development things! Can't wait for the next one!

  4. I'm not a Gallidor Fan, having never owned any of the sets or even recall seeing them back then anywhere in catalogs or stores (were these even released in Europe?). But I have to give it to them, they are not bad toys like many Lego fans seem to think they are.

  5. Lucky.

Also, if your interested, there is a Lego mini figure torso with Galidor printed on it, as well as a trans-neon-orange glass pane with a Galidor movie poster on it. Both of these can be found in the original Ninjago City set.

    Have fun!

  6. It's so cool to see that Matthew not only still cherishes their experience being a part of a small Lego spin-off, but has become an arbiter of Galidor lore gladly sharing their knowledge and memories with fans. What a rad dude.

What did he think when you showed him the prototype?

  7. Heya, apologies if this isn't the right spot for questions. Do you know if there's a problem going on with the Discord links in the description? I get a message saying there's no text channels when I click them and open them up on Discord.

  8. This figure shows galador had potential, like I already set its my least favourite theme (I really don't like 5 of the 10 sets and no have no nostalgia at all), but seeing this armour piece makes me wonder what cool things we could have gotten. And the head is such a step up from the other humans, one eye being cartoony and the other just not existing makes the head so much less uncanny, and makes me wonder again if they would have found other cool ways of obscuring the faces and there "fix" One of my two issues with the human figures

  9. Okay, I confess. I didn’t know about galidor, only recently I saw 2 pictures of galidor, a photo with something like a babyface from toy story, and a nick bluetooth with wing-arms. I laughed from cringe. But if THIS was released, I would definitely buy it, no matter what I saw from galidor earlier. For me, this figure is better than any bionicle, even when I'm not such a fan of bionicle
