Exposing Discovery Institute Part 9: Douglas Axe

The next idiot in the hot seat is Douglas Axe, fake biologist, blog writer, and conspiracy peddler. The twist here is that this guy has actually published peer-reviewed literature. Three whole papers in fact! Not quite as surprisingly, they suck, so letโ€™s talk about exactly why they suck, with plenty of references to good literature for context. And we can learn about molecular biology in the process!

  1. If I was a Christian Apologist or one of the d.i's "Scientists" I would study other religions so if I was lying on TV I could point at other creaters other then there god so my lies would be just a little more believable

The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that โ€œmy ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

  3. People are still debunking the Discovery Institute? Amazing, nothing changes. Hopefully you're reaching new people. Not people like me who've heard this for so many years it just gets redundant.

  5. Intelligent Design proponentsists strike again. They can argue that it's intuitive we're designed til they're blue in the face but given the archaeological and documentary evidence that shows monotheism evolved from polytheism via monolatrism within the context of early Canaan, it's not their own god they're arguing for. Their god shows every sign of being entirely made up.

    I find that wildly hysterical.

  6. It is neither a shock, or a horror that Dr Axes First paper shown @4:00 is itself a Trojan source. Providing the evidence of the exact opposite of what he is arguing. That is a totally classic delusional creationist move.
In fact it might be the ultimate one! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜‚

  7. I always find it amusing when creationist quote big scary numbers claiming infinitely minuscute probability, but willingly accept the belief in an entity for which series absolutely no evidence even to test for or even begin to calculate it's probability.

  8. What they did discover is that a powerful argument can be made for the existence of a devine Creator. Please read Dr Stephen Myers book The Return of the God hypothesis. They also discovered that academia and the media suppress the overwhelming evidence for design both in the physical universe and in biology. Please read and consider Dr Douglas Axe's book Undeniable. We also owe a debt of gratitude to Dr James Tour for highlighting the massively problems in origin of life research. Problems which have been at long last in the journal Nature.

  9. I have a two year old, he babbles incoherently to himself most of the time, repeating phrases. He's heard ad nauseum. And he's in the upper echelon of education for his age.

Kids inherent opinions on how things work are almost always, exceptionally wrong. Trying to circle around to the idea that we should think more like children because the explination is so obvious even kids get it is so absurd its shocking.

Go ask a 5 year old how electricity works. Matter of fact, go ask a child thst hasnt been indoctronated into religion how life arose. The one thing they wont say is God. But its highly unlikely they will come out with Darwinian evolution either, since neither are inherently logical to a child. But to an adult with time to study biology? Its funny how Evolution is the one that becomes common sense, not God.

  10. You sir are terrifying, I pray I never offend you lol. Love these vids tho dude, if there is a god your the one actually doing the lords work. I just spent like 5 minutes calling him a charlatan and fraud on a bunch of his videos, I recommend it, it was fun. I can picture him frantically deleting my comments as fast as he can, cuz he does, and he gets em pretty quick.

  11. Just a casual reminder that his whole "everyone should think like a four-year-old" comment is directly commanded in the bible. This isn't some new grift, it's a grift at least two thousand years running. "Trust your senses, (that things like optical illusions and everyday mistakes regularly prove aren't at all reliable), because it's the most reliable way to know things!" It's an abuse of our faulty wiring and overconfidence in ourselves (ironically born from evolution) to insist on things that look obvious at a surface level but fall apart the second you start to investigate more carefully.

Grifters REQUIRE you not to check their work. They will do everything in their power to make YOU feel like checking their work is not only a complete waste of your time, but will actively harm you. They live and die on you not carefully considering what they say. But the truth has nothing to fear from scrutiny. It revels in it.
So which side does the bible fall on?
Proverbs 3:5 – "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding."

As a wise man once said: "People who don't want you to think are never your friend."

  12. The structure paper he did at Babraham is trash. I was at the Sanger Center at the same time as him and all of us students would meet up in the EBI regularly. His supervisor had a huge fight with him over that paper and refused to be a co-author. It's unheard of for a student to publish without their supervisor being on the paper like that. It was a huge scandal. And he told us he had done the work to prove creationism, and even described how he'd "fixed" the result by how he framed what counted as a functional protein. He is a dishonest, garbage person IMHO.

  13. Creation "scientists" need to show how "god" works.
As soon as they can demonstrate that "a god" exists and has effects on the universe, we can study what those effects are.
All they ever do is lie about the natural science and try to show that it can't work.

  14. He says, "cosmic accidents" but anyone who actually understands science knows that life is a cosmic inevitability.

Uses those words to imply that if God doesn't exist, then humanity has no reason to exist.
