So cool! At 10:18 I saw something I always wondered about: is the arresting gear raised above the deck to facilitate tailhook capture. Looks like it is?
Question: this has puzzled me for a long time. How is the shuttle stpped / breaked at the end of a launch?? Seems like such a devastating impact at the end of the rail. Thanks! Love all your vids!
⚫️💥
Brings back memories of a loooong time ago. Thanks for that man.
Thank you love your content this never gets old for me. God bless you and our soldiers and America.👍
Signature move for the win.
This is so damn interesting! Thank you for the tourist tour. I do have one question, though. Where are all the escort ships? Cheers from Germany
Thanks for the sneak peak, no big deal. Feelin' better now…
3:32 "Sailor taking a break, no big deal" 😂
My only wish is you could post more videos. I love everything you post!!!!
@Growler Jams – I have a Toyota Land Cruiser. It has a Handle on the A Pillar, that I pull on to adjust my Seat Position every time I get into the car, you'll never guess what I say when I do that… "Signature Move!!" My Land Cruiser does not Launch at 170mph though. But I bet I can take an F-18 climbing a Sand Berm though…
Awesome. More carrier tour vids, please!
Can you make a video about how to become a Naval Aviator? Which roadmap should a newly graduate engineer should follow? Or how does the aircraft which the pilot will fly chosen? I will be very glad. I’m trying my best to become one so It will be very helpful.
I'm reminded of the tour I got of the Enterprise back in the '80s. I stepped out on the flight deck and thought, "This is a really big boat — and a really small airport."
Oh my goodness is that where you are now? Ohh wow I feel for you. Tell Randy Mike says hi! You know who Randy is PAL. Love your work . Sorry you’re on the GW. I’m thankful we have no part of that anymore. I saw The Old GW Skipper yesterday. That man is Amazing! He really is!
Thank you very much for taking us on the tour of this MASSIVE ship – really incredible. Cheers from Seattle! 🍻
Is there any escort ship protection for the carrier when doing carrier quals for new Navy and Marine pilots?
Loved the tour, thank you.
I always loved being on the fantail at sunset. There is no better place to be.
Excellent excursion. Worthy.
As for the ship itself, it is a good machine….for the 20th century.
It is clear that the skill of the pilots has nothing to do with it. Pilots are professionals in any country in the world and they are the elite.
The problem is different. In the conditions of the development of military technologies, the use of drones, both underwater, surface and air – such naval formations are not effective. I understand that an aircraft carrier group is up to 30 ships, but it did not help against the Houthi missiles in the Red Sea. And these are not attacks by a high-tech country.
I repeat, the pilots are cool guys. But technology is becoming obsolete. And size no longer matters, especially since no one has really attacked aircraft carriers.
I love doing Carrier Ops in the Sim I play relatively regularly, so I dont to think im a stranger to Supercarriers. But every day GrowlerJams uploads a video is a good day – thank you for making this video, Im sure this took some time to get approved and all… Thanks!Keep it up!
What an incredible video. Somehow it feels more comfortable for the viewer when it's crowded, busy, and dangerous. Then you don't have time to contemplate the mind blowing scale of it all like you do in this extended walkaround of a deserted carrier deck under way. The fantail wake shot really brought home the brutal majesty of the ship.
No big deal……..
Fantastic that you give us these insights. Thank you.
I really love all your insights in your videos, thank you. It's so interesting 🤯
Thank you Pail. We learn so much from you!! God bless and Fly Navy!!❤❤
That was cool tour thanks👍. Enjoy everything naval aviation👌
Awesome tour! I was in several squadrons that did carrier service however my whole career was land based, was always transferring to a new squadron as a ship tour came up. Although I did several tours to the 'far east' with both F4 (J/S) Phantoms and F/A-18(C,D,E) aircraft.
You made my day with this top
jam. Thank you.
I just don't know which day it is,
Friday or Saturday. Because it
was already Friday evening over here when you launched this jam. Anyway, it was a great
way to start a weekend, to forget the boring things and
start doing all fun stuff instead.
I decided you made my day in both, Friday and Saturday❣️I really got to forget everyday dutys with this. 🤗 It has been very nice and relaxing to keep watching this jam over again. TY. 👌🏻💯💯💯😍
In the morning, my endless energypack was watching it with me once. He laid down next to me, put his head on my chest and watched it with me, and tilted his head cute way. 😊🐶
That was awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks again for another informative and interesting video.
Wow!! Just wow…what a thrill to get an amazing tour that I'll never get to see in person. Seeing the flight deck like this gives me a whole new perspective on the hard work and training that our Navy exhibits when they are moving/launching/retrieving aircraft on this platform! Thank you for taking the time, Pail. And TYFYS
Go Navy! Thanks!
Excellent tour, Pail!!
This is excellent, Merry Christmas young man 🙂
