What's your favourite guitar rig? Share below!
That analogy at the start is BRILLIANT! Thanks for the tour. Great company
Mesa Triple Rectifier with a couple of stompboxes into a Mesa oversized 4×12 + a JC120.
Basically the most stereotypical 90ies rig you can get.
Gotta love the amps that can just pack a punch! Really strong and outgoing tone and quality showcase!
man! we're hitting some big time amp guys here recently. Gotta get Lyle over at Psionic Audio on the show next
I’m hearing some Humble Pie at the Fillmore in the Sound City reissue. Instant Classic tones !
Great amps! Still have the same Chinese preamp tubes that came with my '90's era Pittbull CLX. Def a very clear and unforgiving amp. 🤘🤘🤘
Amazing how much Steve knows about each component's contribution to the amplifier's sound. The first time I heard one of his amps I said to myself, oh I've got to have one of those. Of my three personal rigs my favorite is, a VHT Deliverance 120 half stack with a basic pedal-board on the front end.
Honestly — I'm not sure if it's because of the Lav mic, but when you were playing the tones were, um,…not good. Lol….I actually think I'm being nice when I say "not good". I owned a Pittbull CLX back in the day for awhile — cool sounding amp, unique for sure.
Wow, I just learned something very useful about IR and Analog cab sims. Cool.
For months I've been trying so hard to resist buying a Fryette Power Station. Warren, you're not helping 😉
Hi Warren, first of all thanks for doing a lot of guitar related stuff!!! My favorite guitar rig is Peavey Classic 50 together with my Delta Blues and a Dynacord REX. Also my Epiphone SolCat 50 with my Hughes & Kettner 4×12 cabs
That Sound City sounds amazing through the Power Station!
Wow that combo was crazy cool! I wish we got to hear it… Im going to look up some videos.
I love that old school project amp sooo much. I want to hear it!!!
Man Warren, when you started fiddling with that amp, at first I heard Queen. Then in a blink I heard "Breakin the Rules" by AC/DC. Those are some of my favorite amps introduced to me by David Gilmour in the 70's. Good stuff as usual brutha!
Fantastic sounding gear and good looking workshop. That's a man who loves his amps and his work. Thanks very much
Many moons ago I had a green, VHT Pitbull 45 2×10 combo. One of the amps I most regret selling. Such a versatile and great sounding amp that was kind of its own thing.
Great interview! However hes wrong about The Who Live at Leeds. They definitely used Hiwatts by then, they stopped using the Sound Citys by 1969.
I have a Powerstation PS100. Not only is it the best sounding attenuator / re-amp on the market, its got great DI outs, impedence matching and is a swiss army knife that all recording guitarists should own.
☕️:)
Hi everybody, this recorded sound is not totally indicative of the sound of fryette amps… not sure what is happening in this recording. Please watch some of Fryette's Malcontents on Youtube!!!
Tuning a guitar isn‘t a bad thing…
Godzilla!! 😃
This was a fabulous visit and discussion… and of course, we need to hear the sound of that cream amp!
great to see people still making amps. rock-on!
I still own a VHT Pittbull head and a VHT Super 30 combo. Amazing amps. Built like tanks. Both around 20 years old.
