  1. So are you saying that the leadership of the LDS faith along with thousands of men & women before the early 1800 are guilty of trafficking women throughout the ages. Or are you saying that the ancients who wrote The Book of Mormon are guilty of this heinous crime? The heading of your podcast is quite deceptive in its attempt to project. Can you clarify exactly who are the guilty parties of this evil practice among men and women. I am not defending anyone at any time in history, not the secular and certainly not the religious communities of which almost all have participated in this evil. So clarification is all I desire. Are you saying the Jaredites and Nephites of ancient time practiced this evil (given you invoke the term Mormon) or are you pointing to the leadership of the LDS church?

  2. Lamech exploited women, And many of the sons or lineage of Cain exploited women, we even see in scripture where it bled into the people of God as even they began to exploit women, in many ways even taking more than one wife. David & Solomon or prime examples, yet even Abraham was guilty of this. Now I agree with you that polygamy is wrong and against the law of God! But is it fair to throw a faith under the bus as you two so readily do, than to point out the actual perpetrators? You do realize that Nephi wrote down by command of Jesus Christ that it was an abomination for man to take more than one wife while they both lived? That a man or woman could only remarry if their spouse died or that a divorcement under the laws of God was obtained. You’re aware of this right? I just want to understand the spirit that you attack or base your belief in and on. I want to make sure that your laying fault in leadership of the LDS church of that day and not the writers of the Book of Mormon, because if that’s what you are doing, you do realize that you are bearing a false witness in open rebellion to Jesus Christ, you realize that right? Yes! Leadership of LDS, heck even the anaBaptist are guilty of exploiting women. But that evil doesn’t start with the LDS! That starts with carnal man and his wicked heart, and then when Satan takes over that carnalty it turns into to abject twisted morality. And that my friends goes all the way back to Cains evil and the the building of the Ark! And it started up again at the time of Babel, and humanity and its religions have all participated in this evil when and as they began to fall away from God. Think about it! Look at your own church. I could almost guarantee that there has been the evil of exploitation in the religion you practice. Again I’m not justifying the sin. But I do call in to question the spirit of your attack! Because again, you invoke the term Mormon as if The Book of Mormon promotes this evil! That my friend makes you a liar and a bearer of a false witness!

  3. At one point Missionaries were banned from preaching in Britain for the above reasons. When the First World War began in 1914, all American LDS Church missionaries in the United Kingdom were evacuated back to the US. The Lloyd George ministry banned the church's missionaries from reentering Britain in 1918 after the war, despite mission president George Albert Smith's protest that they had peacefully worked in Britain for more than 80 years. Missionaries would not return in significant numbers until mid-1920, after United States Senators Reed Smoot and William H. King caused the American State Department to intervene. The 1922 films Married to a Mormon & Trapped by the Mormons were very popular I the UK. The ban on LDS missionaries in the UK was in part because of fears of the prewar anti-Mormon violence resuming, but incidents were minor. Although Graham and other anti-Mormons continued to denounce the church, the government told them that there was no evidence that missionaries were acting in a way to justify deportation.
